So in the text of the "Divine Strike" ability on certain cleric domains, it says that once per turn when you hit an enemy with a weapon attack, you can add 1d8 thunder damage. In the "Booming Blade" and "Green-Flame Blade" descriptions it states that "as part of this spell you make a melee weapon attack." Would the "melee weapon attack" portion of the spell qualify it for the damage increase from Divine Strike? My Gather Information(google) check proved inconclusive.

Yes it works because as part of the spell you are making a weapon attack.

I believe so. The action you're taking is casting a spell. As part of the spell you make an attack. And then Divine Strike is an effect which is applied to an attack, which you have made. Because Divine Strike doesn't say "When you take an Attack action," it should work. Like you couldn't use Extra Attack to attack twice using Booming Blade because that does specify taking an Attack action, but for effects that only say "a weapon attack" like Divine Strike or most of the Battle Master's maneuvers you fulfilled the requirement by making an attack as part of the spell.
