So im a gargantuan creature and a monk. i kinda need to know what my unarmed strike damage is so i can move on with my life. my damage is that of a lv 16 monk (thank the gods for monks belt), so if i were medium it would be 2d8 and large would be 3d8. but what about gargantuan creature i took the la and now i want my damage bros. this is 3.5

First of all, use capital letters, please.

We also have a 3.5 forum for questions specific to 3.5, but you can ask a moderator to move your thread over there pretty easily.

If you have 2d8 for Medium and 3d8 for Large, then Gargantuan will be 6d8. Look at the row for the bastard sword on this (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/equipment/weapons.htm#weaponSize) table and shift everything to the left by one.

EDIT: I found a table specifically for monks here (http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Monk), in case you get even bigger somehow, or get level drained or something.

An easy method to know where your damage goes once you start getting into multiple dice is the 2->3->4 method. Basically if it's divisible by two, add half the number of dice, if it's divisible by 3, add a third the number of dice. Being divisible by 3 takes precedence in this case, so for example, 6 dice goes to 8 dice, goes to 12 dice, goes to 16 dice etc etc.

This applies whether the dice in question is a d6 or a d8 (I don't think any damage dice progression ends up at anything other than multiples of those two dice).
