Can some one translate this strip for me. I know it has somthing to do with the history of DND and Dragon/Dungeon but its before my time so if I could get an elaboration on it that would be great.

Originally, DnD and Dragon magazine belonged to TSR.

When TSR got into financial trouble, they were bought by Wizards of the Coast who continued to publish Dragon magazine and created 3.0 and 3.5 editions of DnD.

Wizards of the Coast was purchased and is still owned by Hasbro - represented by Mr. Potato Man in the comic.

Wizards of the Coast licensed Paizo Publishing to publish Dragon and Dungeon magazines. Part of the folks at Paizo came from Wizards of the Coast, hence the reference to parts from the office. The golem thing is the Piazo logo.

Wizards of the Coast has ended Piazo's licence for Dragon and Dungeon magazines and is going to start publishing them in an electronic format.

Hope this helps.

Also,

The original logo for TSR was a Wizard, and it changed to a Red Dragon.

Didn't TSR sue WotC for copyright infringement? And WotC decided that the simplest solution would be to buy them out.

AD&D lost a lot of its soul when Gygax lost the rights to his ex-wife in a divorce.

TSR sued a lot of people ... it was even know as They Sue Regularly.

TSR was very much bankrupt when WotC brought then and you can thank Lorraine Williams for that situation.

Now it all makes sense! When did WotC buy the rights?
