Weapon Alteration Spells

So, I've been playing in a campaign where we've come across a decently sized group of enemies. As it fits in with my backstory, they're terrified of a legendary hired mercenary who used a bow and arrow made of lightning. I'm an eldritch knight, and wondering what spells could possibly alter only the appearance of my weapon, not the stats, for intimidation factor. I was thinking Disguise Self or some sort of illusion spell. Thoughts or recommendations? Is it at all possible within 5e Guidelines?
