Rex's Mindscape

[Rex Idiotarum]

It's the head of a crazy person, and now it looks like a semidestroyed city, as holes are punched through buildings all over the place. The fight can be heard off in the distance.

The Sky is Red, in fact, most everything is shades of Red and Black, The buildings warp. Creatures and Random Objects have the Rubus Oculus on them:

It's a dark and twisted place, slightly hot, this must be similar to some versions of Dis.

The insanity demon looks around and tries to determine the best way to keep Rex psychotic.

Lillith, on the other hand, is wandering the streets trying to find a way to keep him sane.

[Rex Idiotarum]

The fight off in the distance seems to be causing quite a commotion, explosions bring down Towers. It seems to be coming from the center point of the city, where all the buildings lean.

The demon tries to determine what's happening.

Lillith runs for the center of the city.

[PirateMonk]

The demon tries to smash the pavement into her.

[Rex Idiotarum]

The way is pretty long, and they pass many of these same beasts. ((Uh, Posting will be delayed, my sister wants to use the computer.))

((Okay, I'll just deal with an insanity demon until then. and PM: How is he smashing the pavement into her? that's confusing.))

((Yeah... most of it's combat ability here revolves around manipulating the environment, so...))

[Rex Idiotarum]

((Not for too long))
Rex's mindscape is surprisingly static, his will is really strong. The Instanity Demon finds that it's even harder to manipulate the surroundings than in real life. ((Like requiring extra strength to open one of those Newspaper things))

Lillith keeps moving down the street, abandoning her earlier converstation with Rex's inner child.

[PirateMonk]

The demon hisses in a sort of sighing way and flies after her.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"W-where are you going?" A soft wisper of a voice comes from around her. If she looks, she'll see that it's a blindfolded Rex in a long cloack, he floats and flies and slightly transparant. It's as if he were a ghost.

[PirateMonk]

The demon tries to determine what the new Rex is personifying, if anything.

[Rex Idiotarum]

The staff, which I failed to describe, has a set of scales on it. He seems weak, and timid, as if he wants to be ignored, or is just use to it. it seems to be Rex's Judgement.

[PirateMonk]

The demon throws a blast of destructive energy at it, just to be on the safe side.

[Artemis97]

"To the center of this city, Rex needs help." Lillith replies, looking around before her eyes settle on the transparent figure.

[Rex Idiotarum]

It wisps itself out of the way. "T-that wasn't nice... O? You are out to help Rex? You must be mad..."

[Artemis97]

"Why would you say that?" Lillith inquires.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Don't hit me! Uh? O!..." Upon seeing that Lillith wasn't going to, "Rex is mad. To help Rex is madness, his magic is evil, his ideas are destruction, all he knows is death."

[PirateMonk]

The demons speeds off to the battle.

[Artemis97]

"Perhaps, but he's learning, changing. At least, I hope he is." she frowns, remembering his inner child destroying that bird with so much sadistic pleasure.

[Rex Idiotarum]

A giant hand strechses out of an allyway, and it goes to crush the Demon.

"O... Are you referring to the Dog? I think he's a bit better as an Ego, he actually listens to me some of the time...."

[Artemis97]

"Dog? He does call himself Mad Dog occasionally." She nods.

[PirateMonk]

The demon continues heading to the battle and wonders what's taking so long.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Judgement laughs. "You'll see when you get to the battle."

A Large Sword with a Lady on it Expands into a large metal wall in front of the Demon. "This is where you stop."

[PirateMonk]

No. No it isn't. The demon throws a massive blast of destructive energy at the sword, and then uses the massive strength it gains by being in the mind of someone as crazed as Rex to Try to hurl pavement at it.

[Rex Idiotarum]

The sword accepts the punishment with ease.
"You don't get it, do you? I am the element of Chaos in here, and now I decided that you should die." The Cloacked Figure with a cracked Ceramic Mask. It picks up the large swords and swings it swiftly at the Demon.

[Artemis97]

Lillith looks a little concerned. "Is there anything I should know before I get there?"

[PirateMonk]

The sword collides with it. It dissolves into a black mist, as is to be expected, and reforms on the other side of Chaos. It hisses, and tries to escape to the center.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Nothing Much, There's currently three Egos fighting for charge, O! Look, there's one now," The say catching up to Chaos(He uses a Synonym when in charge), "although he functions under orders of the Dog. Don't ask me how it works." ((Yay, Foreshadowing!))

The element of chaos, chases after the demon, and continues to attack it.

"I won't, I just need to know how to help him."

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Helping them is something I do not know. Rex has been in many Mindscapes, but about his own..."
They pass the Demon and Chaos.
It's getting Close, you can feel the heat of Fireball Blasts in the area, and there is more destruction in this area than before. It should be noted that the buildings and allyways start shifting back and forth to face in the direction of the fight.

Lillith's wings flutter a little nervously as the world shifts around her. "I guess I'll just have to improvise." She flaps a few feet into the air to try and get a better view of the fight.

[Rex Idiotarum]

In the Center of the city, where a circular park sits, surrouned by half torn down buildings with more Ravens on perched on them, in the center, there are two beings engaded in a fight.

On one end of the battle field, he looks exactly like Rex does in real life, except he wears a Burger King Crown, wears a Red Shirt and long Black Pants, and uses a very blunt, plastic Rapier. He Laughs Maniacly as he hurls fireballs at the other end of the field.

The other end is what looks like a beast, hair, doglike, and about twice the size of normal humans. He wears a collar, like the one Rex does outside of this place, as well as Manicles (Again, like his magical Chains), with Broken Chains. He gets hit hard with the few fireballs, but it seems to give him a bit of rage as he rushes on the mage's position.

Scorched patches of black litter the Red grass lawn.

Lillith looks back and forth between the two, confused as to what to do. One looked an awful lot like the Rex she knew, but the other was obviously the 'Dog' she was looking for. She moves closer to the battle and onto the grass of the park. "Rex?"

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Yes?" The Mage hissses.

"Lillith!" Excaims the Dog, but in being distracted gets hit by a Fireball. You notice what they are fighting for, a Pool in the center of the park.

[Artemis97]

Found him. Lillith runs to stand near Dog, keeping a careful eye on the Mage. "Need some help?"

[Rex Idiotarum]

He shoots back at the Mage with two giant guns. "Use your magic to keep him destracted while I go for the Stun." ((Even against Figments of His imagination, Dog will not kill))

[Artemis97]

Lillith nods and begins casting a spell, sending a pillar of fire andd holy energies towards the mage.

[Rex Idiotarum]

The Mage counters the Fire with his own, but the Holy sends him flying.((There is no Holy Magic here, so it's not something he expects)), Dog charges behind Mage and sends two burst at Mage. One Grean, one Blue. Mage goes thud into the wall, and doesn't move.

"Wow, g-good call, not something I would do...."
"Hm... That'll Keep him, for now." as Chains start to bind the mage. "Say, did you leave our bodies in the War Zone?"

[Artemis97]

Lillith's face drops. "Oh no... We.. we should be fine, they were afraid of you, and we're no threat to them."

[Rex Idiotarum]

"They we afreaid of me Consious..." Dog says, he's starting to look a little more Humanoid, a little shorter as well. "Come on, we have to get back to our bodies." He says, as he approaches the Pool. "I have to go for a Dip, you just concentrait on breaking your spell."

[Artemis97]

"Right, I'll see you on the outside." Lillith does as she was told and tries to break the spell and return to her own body.

[PirateMonk]

The demon materializes again and tries to locate the Mage.

[Rex Idiotarum]

The Place is much diffrent than last time. It is now longer a city at all, but an Underground cavern with narrow hallways, walls of rough red stone, and a Rumbling of some giant monster that seems to be getting closer.

[PirateMonk]

The demon continues searching.

[Rex Idiotarum]

As it crosses down the Empty, narrowing tunnels, the Demon may soon realize that the Rumbling is cathing up, and fast. Stones start to fall from the ceiling.

[PirateMonk]

It ignores the rumbling, confident that it can overcome anything in Rex's mind.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Large rocks start falling down around the Demon, and it may soon realize that the tunnles are getting smaller and smaller. It's Quickly getting claustraphobic.

[PirateMonk]

It turns around and checks if the tunnels are broader there.

[Rex Idiotarum]

It sees a giant Red and Black Worm with about a hundred Rubus Oculi come threashing through the tunnel. As it gets closer, it's mouth begins to open revealing large gullet. The only escape seem to be through the narrowing tunnels.

[PirateMonk]

It smiles. Hello. It experimentally throws a blast of energy capable of turning the Town into a smoking crater, though focused into a much smaller area.

[Rex Idiotarum]

It consumes the blast with ease, and sucks it into a void.

"Clean up crew. Have you ever met one before?" Rex's voice echoes down the hallway.

[PirateMonk]

The demon waits patiently.

[Rex Idiotarum]

And the worm catches up, consuming the entire hallway into it's void. Presumable, the Demon's essence should be destroyed.

[PirateMonk]

Strangely, what should utterly obliterate it simply reduces it to the same mist that it became when Chaos attacked it. It reforms on the other side of the worm, if there is one. You may have transformed your mind into a death trap, but I don't die, especially here.

((Dinner.))

[Rex Idiotarum]

There is no other side, just endless void.

The demon contemplates what this latest development means for Rex's mind.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"It should be obvious. You are new at this, aren't you? Just one form, haven't figured out how to shift your personalities in? Haven't reaized that my mind is powerful enough to control this place, it cannot effect you as an outside being, and that you alone can do that? Well, it doesn't matter, I'll rip you apart, tear you down, and break your mind so you can't reform anymore." Torture commences.

It seems to be unaffected. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe, in some far off place, there are people who are different from humans?

((Ice cream deadtime.))

[Rex Idiotarum]

((Rex isn't human, as far as his mindscape is concerned. This is a foriegn place, even by the Demon's expirence. It's a place that gives him little to no power compared to other mindscapes. So "uneffected" is pretty bull. Rex knows more about these things than even the Demon knows. He is an expert Mind@#$%er.))

((And he just happens to know what constitutes torture for a completely alien demon that he's never encountered before?))

[Rex Idiotarum]

((No, he does not, but he's willing to find out. So, he pokes and prods, and introduces elemental extremes and has the area just look like a giant shroom trip. When it comes down to it, this void is really a 10ft. x 10 piece of space that Rex is omnipotent in. So, given time and many expiriments, he'll find the Demon's weakness without letting it into his mindscape.))

The odds are high that before Rex can find an effective method of torture, he will accidentally cause it to dissipate.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Well, killing the creature is his goal, he'll just enjoy the torure up until that point.
Although, using the creature as a form of anger and violence supression might actually make Rex more sane.

The place is different. A shopping mall. A Rex at each store with a label about their personality in the banner above the stores.

Moose looks around, freaked out. :smalleek: Um...this is NOT what I was expecting.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Regina and Rex stand behind him, hand in hand.
"Well, what did you expect?" Rex says, there's something odd about him, like the fact that he can't look away from Regina.

"Indeed, this is a very organized Mindscape. Something you should try. See you later Narcissism." She says, that's the Real Rex.
"C'mon, this isn't our destination anyways."

:smallconfused: Well...I was expecting...I dunno, witch-trial-style burnings of random people in here. Moose follows Regina.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Please, I live in harmony with all aspects of my personality." She starts waliking. Click, Click, Click of her shoes echo through the large vacant halls "O! That looks nice." She dives into a store.

:smallconfused: ........ Moose just wonders how this is supposed to help.

[Rex Idiotarum]

She starts searching through the racks. "Actually, over a course of many years, I stored a lot of belongings in here..." She pulls out a Red silk shirt with embroidered flames, she holds it up to her chest. "What do you think? Comes in blue. Ah, well, I'll teach you about the lower processes, and maybe you can help me with something."

"Improve your concept of Empathy. Sure you can do, but do you understand?" She tosses the shirts aside and dives to another rack, pulling out a Victorian Dress. "Would this make my ass look big?"

She drops it on the ground and flocks over to another rack and pulls out some fluffy Lingerie. "You wish." and places it back. "You've conquered up to this point, have you gone lower?"

No, I haven't...and I can't right now.

Deadtime.

"Aw, damn, we'll try this another time, then."

Moose comes out of deadtime, and looks around. Hmm...y'know, it actually kind of makes sense to have your mindscape look like this.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"O?" Regina says from the fitting rooms.

[blackout]

For the mind of a manipulator, yeah, it kind of does.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Go on, I want to know what you pick up about me from this mindscape. What do you sense about my emotional state?" It's a lot crowded than before. faceless shoppers frantically moving through the stores. babies crying.

I'm sensing...a little chaos, maybe a little bit of an internal argument.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"No, if it were versions of myself, it would be internal conflict, but look closely, none of these are me, they are outsiders. Visitors of the mall. This is external chaos. Right now I have stress because someone life may be on my hands. Mentally and physically, I'm all frantic. But, what were you saying that the mall is a perfect place for a manipulator." She tosses clothes over the door of the fitting room apparently they didn't suit her needs.

Well, someone skilled enough would be able to take advantage of the chaos, while everyone's distracted, and do something that would benefit them in ways unconcievable, while probably harming other people in the process...

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Yes, you could become a pick pocket. But I prefer to give the money from the stolen wallets to the poor kid standing at the food court eying the Taco Bell with deep hunger.

Of course, sometimes, that kid is my inner child." She slips on stuff inside the dressing room.

Well, actually, I was thinking something along the lines of increasing one's own power, or something along those lines....oh well. Mind explaining what's causing so much chaos in here?

[Rex Idiotarum]

Just something... Suddenly, everyone seems to just leave. The lights in the mall flicker and dim.

"Just saved a life, that was adrenalin. Now I'm in crash. So, you starting to understand more about minds? Getting around in them okay?"

[blackout]

Kind of. I'm actually looking forward to learning more about future sight and clairvoyence, but telepathy is important too, I guess. I really need to know how to completely and utterly dominate someone's mind, it'll make things alot easier.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Minds are more complicated than 'Dominate' or such, it's like trying someone up in a puppet show. They can still resist, and sometimes backfire. You need to learn the subtleties of the mind. There's more work in fixing them." She opens the door, she's wearing a cute top which has brown and blond fur and a whit stomach and chest and some short tight shorts, which allows room for her tail to poke through. "Meow."

"Wow, maybe Fenix was right...." She says, "C'mon." She turns to the door with the Employee Only sign.

Don't hate me cus I'm right. Moose follows Regina, still grimacing at the sight of her.

Again, she isn't ugly.
She slaps him. With claws.
She opens the door. "Welcome to fifth level thoughts." It's dark in there, a service passage. Pipes run along the walls.

"This acts at a premise for thoughts based off of your body's condition. Hunger, Pain, Heat, ect." She wanders down a bit and finds a manhole cover.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Yes, but you are far too weak to do anything to me. At least on this level." She dinnertimes.

Huh. I didn't think mind control effected instincts. :smallconfused:

[Rex Idiotarum]

"You'd be surprised. By mentally blocking people, you can cause a heart attack, give massive pain, and totally disorient people. Mind effecting charms for 5th level and lower are more common than the higher thoughts."

Huh. You think you know something...so, what should I be doing here?

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Well, up to this point, I've failed to do something. There's a switch down in the ninth level, were mind, body, and soul all house their command center. It's like the brain of the body. Well, I need your help in fixing it."

[blackout]

Okay, then...I guess...Let's just go.

[Rex Idiotarum]

She drops down the man hole.
It's dark and deep, and there's a ladder.

[blackout]

Moose follows, keeping an eye out for anything.

[Artemis97]

Lillith appears at the base of the ladder. "What's going on?"

[Rex Idiotarum]

The room looks to be dominated by it. It looks like a Harvard Mark I, but larger, machines turning, electricity humming, and strange imp-like creatures running it.

"Caution" Regina whispers, "The don't like us interfering."

[blackout]

:smallconfused: Lil? What are you doing here?

[Rex Idiotarum]

"I invited her." Regina is wearing really tight spandex-y clothes. Perfect for flexibility needed on the lower levels.

[blackout]

Moose just shrugs, and follows Regina. So, what's going on down here? This is your mindscape, isn't it? Why don't they like interference? :smallconfused:

[Artemis97]

Lillith smiles at Moose, then notices Regina's attire, shifting her own appearance to match.

[Rex Idiotarum]

She tip toes. "They may mistake us for surface thoughts and send us back to the Mall." She whispers, "Or worse, they may I dentify you as Outside threats and try to delete you." She casts a few spells on the group. "That should make them ignore us."

[blackout]

Moose nods, and follows Regina, looking around curiously.

[Artemis97]

Lillith follows as well.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"This is the mind's control center for the Body. This is what tells your heart to beat, your arm to move, your eyes to blink, your lungs to breath and so on. Don't touch a thing, or you can totally screw me up. We're going lower." She points to a Door with "Emergency Exit" Printed on it.

Moose is sorely tempted to just mess with everything, but decides against it, and heads for the emergency exit.

Lillith continues to follow, being very careful not to touch anything.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Regina pulls out a credit card that for some reason has the name Lucas J. Rock on it. She slips it into the door and picks the lock.

[Rex Idiotarum]

The door slide open. "Down the stairs." She's holding it to prevent it from triggering the alarm.

[blackout]

Of course, ignore the question. Moose does so.

[Artemis97]

Lillith walks past. "Why did you have to pick the lock on your own mind?"

[Rex Idiotarum]

Regina closes the door. "Because, we are now getting to seventh level thoughts. This is emotional maintenance and has the highest connection with the soul, besides first level thoughts. There's a reason your body will stop you from ripping out your own heart. This is like that."

[blackout]

So, it's basically an emotional stability engineering section.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Yup. Anything above this is thought, anything below this feelings."

[Artemis97]

"Interesting..."

[blackout]

Ok, then...so, what's the situation down here?

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Yup, it is said on the deepest level, is where Magic is born, but no one can get to it. Well, I told you about the broken switch, I need your help turning it into a knob that works both ways."

[blackout]

How'd the switch get broken anyways?

[Rex Idiotarum]

"I don't know, it was probably installed improperly when it was. You'll understand when we get there." She walks down the stairs.

[Artemis97]

"I'm going to guess it has something to do with your being Regina at the moment."

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Ah, you're smarter than I give you credit for. Maybe it's because I hang around Moose more than you and figure like fishes swim together."

[blackout]

I'm standing right here.

[Artemis97]

Lillith frowns. "Well we all can't be fiends and demigods."

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Yeah, but I thought you wouldn't get the Metaphor...." She comes to a room with a giant pool. "Welcome to the Seventh Layer. I believe the switch is here or the Eight level."

[blackout]

I'm still trying to figure out why you think it's possible I can fix this. :smallconfused: I mean, you know this place better than I ever will...hell, why not just port us to the switch, or something?

[Artemis97]

"She just said she doesn't know exactly where the switch is. We need to look for it." Lillith glances at the pool. "I'm guessing no swimming?"

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Minds are different that bodies. But for one, I don't know where the switch is, so teleporting it isn't going to get anywhere. The last couple of levels were more for your education. If you accidentally slipped to sixth level on someone, and made a mess, you could quickly be killed. Well comatose. Not in that, will we swim." She blinks into a bikini.

[blackout]

:smalleek: Ok, then... Moose takes one look at Regina, and then looks at Lillith, grinning almost insidiously.

[Artemis97]

Lillith changes from cat-suit to a little red and gold bikini.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Are you going to dive in your flightsuit or what?" She says to Moose.

[blackout]

Oh, right. Moose then blinks into a pair of swimming trunks.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"There we go." She springs up, does a flip in midair and straight into the water.

[blackout]

Moose just jumps into the water. No fancy diving.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Regina surfaces. "Coming Lillith?"

[Artemis97]

"Yep." she swan dives into the pool, spreading her wings out wide, then drawing them in close as she hits the water.

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Nice." Regina says. The pool has many openings to other places, and is really deep. Regina dives down, straight down.

[blackout]

Moose follows her, one thought in his head. Note to self...find rifle with anti-magic setting.

[Rex Idiotarum]

You mean like the HK PSGIs? Regina thinks to him.

[Artemis97]

Lillith dives down after Regina. No need to worry about breathing in a mindscape, I don't think.

[blackout]

...I hate you and love you at the same time.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Lillith would be right, mostly. You only need to breath if you think you have to.

Well, I can get you most anything if you want. I mean, I already got a lot of stuff. Didn't you read the inventory list?

Lillith giggles and keeps swimming, well more flying through the water.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Ah, why don't you write up a list of stuff you want and I'll see what I can do. She comes down to the bottom to the pool, where there's thousands of switches. Apparently it jets out two lines of bubbles on perpendicular axises and it turns a switch. Search around here.

Moose looks around for something like a busted switch.

[Artemis97]

Lillith does the same, searching in the opposite direction.

[Rex Idiotarum]

Regina floats in the water, not searching just concentrating.

[blackout]

Moose resumes looking. Anything yet, hun?

[Artemis97]

No, not yet, but I have an idea. She starts muttering a spell. Find the Path, to find the broken switch.

Forget that, it doesn't work on objects.

[Rex Idiotarum]

A jet of bubbles shoots past Lillith and collides with another line in a far off distance.

Did you see it?

[blackout]

Great...hmm...I wonder, does telepathy help with tracking things inside a mindscape?

[Artemis97]

No, what's the signifigance of these bubbles?

[Rex Idiotarum]

The bubbles turn the switch, follow them.
She concentrates again, getting the bubbles to jet by again.

[PirateMonk]

Moose may feel a poke passing through continuities and into his mental projection. Probably not, though.

They send electrical pulses down two lines, where the lines criss-cross, the polarity of the points changes from plus to minus. Same way how this works. Find the intersection and you'll find the switch.

She concentrates and the bubbles jet out again.

Moose looks for the intersection.

Lillith vague;y remembers where the jets hit each other and swims in that direction.

The switch is big, about a foot wide, and works on a pivot with the jets.

Although bubbles are blasting into it, it's not budging.

The switch just seems to be made improperly. It's warped.

Meanwhile, bubbles start to jet to a far of location. @#$%, you guys fix this, I'll fight that.

It starts unbending, but it resists.

"Fight's over, you can leave. I'm going to claim my prize." She says with a very suggestive smile.

"What is that supposed to mean? What have you done?"

[Rex Idiotarum]

"Well, I have a Drow in my possession. What do you think I'm going to do? They are used to the violent stuff and know how to pleasure. Or they wouldn't be alive..."

Lillith hangs her head. "Poor Raril, but I won't say he doesn't deserve it. Ah well, I'll see you on the outside I suppose." With that Lillith, and probably Moose, dissappear out of the mindscape.
