...as early as possible?

Am curious what methods PF has for looking into those pesky realities right beside the Material.

Imagine buying a home on Golarion and later finding out you've been bathing in the town square of some coexistent extraplanar Shadow realm town.

Definitely a situation to avoid.

Forbiddance (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/f/forbiddance/) permanently prevents creatures in any plane from entering. Unfortunately, forbiddance has an expensive material component, and also deals damage to people with alignments different than yours (circumventable with a password, though).
I'm not entirely up to scratch on my Pathfinder, though.

One of the simplest (though not necessarily cheapest) ways is to go to that coexistent plane and build a solid wall/dome/box around the point of interest.
