What are the limits for UA Incantations and how exactly do they work(3.5)

So anybody that knows of this, what are exactly the limits of Incantations and how exactly do they work? They work like Epic spells according to my understanding but I'm not to sure that is right.

Incantations are supposed to be weaker versions of normal spells done via ritual.

So, think epic spells that have been neutered.


As for how they work, You perform Skill checks every 10 minutes or so based on a DC set by the invocation. You have to pass all/most of them.
That said, Incantations can be more powerful than normal spells (One RAW one swaps you for a Balor and burns the area for quite a distance.)
