The relevant text from the spell:
The wielder can use the blade to deal electricity damage with a melee touch attack, or to fire a 30-foot line of lightning as a ranged touch attack
My questions:
1. Is the 30-foot line specified in the spell a modified version of the standard line area effect described in the PHB or is it meant to be a throw away replacement word for something like "ray" or "generic ranged touch attack" that target single creatures. Layman's terms: does it target one creature or every creature in the line?
2. Assuming it's a variation on a standard line area effect, does it do the maximum damage to each target (based on what was allotted for that particular strike) or do you have to dole out damage from your pool to each viable target along the line?
