Bardic Knack & Jack of All Trades Clarification

How does these two work. I see conflicting post and want a ruling from the community.

I'm not going to comment on OP, but Bardic Knack and JoAT don't stack - this is something I've seen brought up several times before.

Bardic Knack only works with skills you have "at least 1 actual rank in". JoAT gives you a "virtual" 1/2 rank, and therefore does not qualify.

Oh that's a bit disappointing I thought when it said " You need 1 actual rank to attempt check" that's what the feat did, it qualified you for the attempt.

However if I was to go human, spend some of those extra skill points on cross class. I would achieve the same results with little loss from what I could see. Even smaller from Nymph's Kiss if I was reading that correctly. You get higher output then the original input and gain access to handful of useful skills to make any session fun.
