A player likes the victim he raised but it's reduced to an upper torso
-is there a way to heal zombies?

Healing works on undead just like anything else except when a spell stipulates undead are not affected. (Such as Cure Wounds) They split the whole Heal/harm thing up into Radiant and Necrotic now, so unless a healing spell deals Radiant damage to undead as a house rule, you're good. Regenerate, the 7th level cleric spell has no such distinctions, so it would heal your zombie.

The healer feat would also patch up undead.

...what do they like about a zombie?

But if they want, they could sew the torso to the other body parts

Healing spells don't restore missing body parts, only Regenerate does... and it works on undead, unlike most healing spells.
