Javelin is listed in simple weapons, not simple ranged weapons, available for monk, yet it is thrown. RAW.

So, yes or no, you can take Sharpshooter feat with Javeiln (applies to Barbarians, Bards, Clerics, Druids, Fighters, Monks, Paladins, Rangers, Rogues, and Warlocks)?

I think No but like Hand Axe, Dagger, Light Hammer, and Spear it seems, "odd."

If it's not on the range weapons list it's not classified as a ranged weapons. So sharpshooter does not work by RAW.

That is how I saw it, thanks.

You can take Sharpshooter feat with character who uses javelins, and you're not limited in what class you take it with, just because some lack proficiency doesn't mean they can't use it at all.

However, you can't use Sharpshooter with javelin, as it is a melee weapon with thrown property possibly used to make ranged attack, not a ranged weapon as required by the feat.
