Advice: Good Effigy Flying Mount Suggestions

So I have some watchtowers manned by some of my best sims and they need a mount.

I was going to stick with effigies or MAYBE constructs but I haven't decided.

I was thinking something silly like a Magebred, warbeast, Shadow Creature Griffon as a base but I haven't figured out what would happen once I make the effigy.

Any other suggestions for a base creature to start with?

Dragon effigies seem obvious but they feel too over the top, thoughts?

Dragons are, indeed, the obvious choice. Half-dragons aren't bad, either.

4-headed half-dragon rhinos are loads of fun.

For the cheapest, weakest option, how about a stack of 10'x10' paper? Cast Animate Objects & Permanency for a lot of really cheap flying mounts.

Wyverns are a bit clumsy, but they have a really good natural attack routine.
