You are all currently in the town of Fairbanks. You've been talking with each other (probably at a tavern, over some drinks) and have decided that going into the Fairbanks Cave is a good idea, despite all the history indicating you're going to die a dangerous, horrible death.

You've heard that the king is rallying his army from a recent successful campaign against a neighboring nation, and is bringing a substantial portion of his army towards the caves to ensure Fairbanks is made safe. He's suppose to arrive in about a month, so you have until then to handle the caves yourself.

What will you do?

I have no idea what this thread is of which you speak, or are you doing a piece of emroidery in your spare time? Haha I jest, if you are thinking about leaving for that cave in the coming week, I would happily join your party. Vash'Er said with a sly grin.

It had been years since he took up the spear. His last adventure and the deaths of his friends still weighed heavily on his soul. He had tried to live a simple life, but after a few weeks or sometimes months he started to feel restless again. Like an itch he couldn't scratch. The Gods apparantly weren't done with him yet. And he wasn't sure he minded....

Gak slaps the elkhorn mug down on the wooden counter, sloshing the liquid inside up to the lip, a few dribbles spilling over the side onto his hairy knuckles. "Cave is no place for skinny elfs. No spells-book, no gods symbol," he observes of Vash'Er. "You skinnies always die fastly in war. You need strong armor to find the treasures," he smacks he battered steel adorning his torso. "Gak will go. Keep you safe." he picks up his mug and seems to propose a toast to seal the deal.

He had his own reasons for entering the cave of course, but even Gak was smart enough to bring help.

Meanwhile, Neryet is looking for a scroll shop.

Valerye quietly sits at the table listening to the conversation, occasionally taking small sips from the mug containing water in front of her. :)

Vash'Er grabs his mug and toasts with Gak.

Then he downs the remaining content in one gulp. An observant serving boy immediately comes to the table to collect the empty glasses.

Another round of ale please boy and a pitcher of water, and keep them coming. Let's see if my new friend can drink as well as boast!
He punches Gak on the shoulder in a friendly way, winking at Valerye

"Of course, sir," he says, running off to do as he was ordered. You can see him talking excitedly with one of the other servers near the back of the tavern, before going to get your drinks.

Valerye gives Vash'Er a small quick smile as he winks at her, then thinks to herself, as she finishes off the last of her water.
I wonder what made the server boy so excited, and I wonder how I become stuck with these two .
