Alchemist confusion

So I'm confused about the alchemist.. here's my questions it says you get so many extracts per day now these "extracts" are bombs,mutagens, and formule.. now if you get only so many day chart + Int mod, do you have to split it up between those 3 like example you get 4 a day do you get like 2 bombs 1 mutagen, 1 formula, some one please help pulling hair out here trying to figure it out.. so confused because under bombs it says level + Int mod, I don't understand extracts per day clearly

Bombs and mutagens aren't extracts. Extracts are basically spells, bombs are a special attack, and mutagen is a one at a time thing that takes an hour to brew.

The descriptions for (magical) alchemy were really poorly written out when Paizo published it, and they never really got around to trying to streamline any of it.

Formulae and extracts are essentially two words for the same thing—the alchemical version of spells. You call them formulae when you're talking about what's written in your "spellbook," and extracts when you're talking about the physical object that you drink in order to activate your "spells." It gets worse when you start talking about the version of your extracts that you can give to other people, because then there's a third word for the same thing—infusion. Paizo even vacillates between calling these infusions and infused extracts.

As stack explained, mutagens and bombs are other "magical alchemical" items that you can create, but which are mechanically unrelated to your extracts, and they have their own rules controlling the number you can create and use per day.

Think of it this way: the formulae are written in your book, and are the recipes for extracts.

The extract is the prepared spell. You can prepare a number of extracts per day as detailed on the Alchemist table, plus bonus slots for a high int score just like a wizard. Each extract takes one minute to prepare.

Now do bombs still do damage like let's say level 4 you do 2d6 bombs, now if you choose smoke bomb as a discovery does it still do 2d6 damage and fog cloud affect or just fog?

A bomb's damage still occurs, unless the discovery states that the effect replaces the damage, or the discovery modifies the damage dealt.
