Has anyone seen a 3rd edition version of the AD&D spell Chariot of Sustarre anywhere? I always thought it was a cool way to get around.

Although I don't know that spell, are you familiar with phantom steed?

Why yes, I am. Are you familiar with the Drizzt Do'urden stories? The Lady of Silverymoon cast the flying chariot spell that allowed Drizzt to catch up to his friends at sea.

I wish I had instead started a thread about cool AD&D spells that should be converted to 3rd edition.

I am not familiar with those stories. I don't know AD&D either so there may be other spells worth updating that are interesting.

It was converted into an item in Dragon #331, page 37.

Thanks, I'll check that out.

I have not heard of that spell but there is a spell called Spiritual Chariot in SpC which might be similar

Well folks, if only I had done a little homework first... If you Google Chariot of Sustarre, you will find a link to a 3.5 version made in the UK at www.worldsofimagination.co.uk/spell%20Chariot%20of%20Sustarre.htm .

Besides the obvious ones that have already been updated, the AD&D Spell compendiums are full of very cool (some even very useful) spells, that should be converted indeed! Also the "Pages from the Mages" book, contained some very cool spells and whose spell-book they were in. It was full of secret and personal spells of some of Faerūns most famous casters! Very very cool!

Man, that does not sound like a 9th level spell, at least by 3e standards.
