The swamp mummy from Bestiary 5 is just about perfect for what I need, with just one problem—the exceptionally stubborn disease called bog rot.
This is both a curse and a disease, so the curse needs to be removed before the disease can be magically purged. However, for story reasons, this could be too much of a challenge right now. The party is second level, and the swamp mummy’s DR and slam attacks will be more than enough to keep them occupied.
Given that, what would be the approximate CR for this creature if I removed the bog rot ability? Would that drop it down to CR 3?
