Various creatures have resistance or more to the Charm condition (elf & off-shoots)

Hold person is in the Enchantment school, but it's effect is a Paralyzed condition.

Tasha's is in the same boat. But the description list no condition.

Do elves get their racial advantage when saving against?

spells that immunity or resistance to charm effects help with are noted in their description. neither of those spells do; in contrast, consider mass suggestion, which tells you that it doesn't work on creatures with immunity to charm.

A spell will tell you if it charms something (e.g., "on a failed save, the target is charmed by you" or something to that effect) or if creatures immune to charm are unaffected by it. The Enchantment school in and of itself does not mean the spell is automatically a charm effect.
