Assuming your character had a week to themselves with no troubles or injuries affecting them.

Quertus would read, play chess, eat good food & drink good wine.

Armus might visit old friends, or take long walks to clear his head.

Hunter wouldn't know what to do with himself.

Woody... may try to invent new vices, in the hopes of bringing the count up to the Eight Deadly Sins. Or just sight see.

I only have the one right now, so...

Oona would start her week off by attempting to sleep off the mild hangover from last night's celebrating of her upcoming week off. After that first morning she would visit local blacksmiths, enjoy good food, try to find someone to train with to see if she can learn something new, and probably spend a lot of time taking walks in nearby fields and forests.

To be an actual break from the norm, probably hole up in a small cubiculum and slave away at writing documents while being harassed by the (literal) harpy in HR.

But probably fishing in the small lake next to the grove with the frisky Druid lass and a small keg of mead. Ranger's day off.

L3NN¥ would work on his drones, improve on his progs, or find a street doc willing to plug some more 'ware into him.

Arch Whitman would probably ingratiate himself to some neonates for future boons.

The most recent one I've played would probably do the same thing he does on his working weeks: hole up in his lab or visit faeries.

A selection of other responses would be:
- "'week off'? I do not understand the concept."
- visit children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren
- read
- get bored out out of her mind and go back on duty

Perhaps the most fun was what my players recently did. They are high-level characters, all of whom were busy with things like running new domains, politics with larger more powerful and potentially hostile neighbors, trying to keep the populace from killing themselves, trying to keep monsters from killing the populace, raising children, worrying about the long-term theological ramifications for two churches of the latest marital dispute, an ex-paramour coming back as a powerful vampire and trying to oust you, time-traveling to other worlds and saving them, trying to become gods, etc.
They have mostly drifted apart now that their traditional adventuring days are over and responsibilities weigh down their daily lives (I almost wrote 'livers' there, which would only be correct for two of them). While at the wedding of one they reminisced about the old days and how everything was so much easier and simpler then; go to problem spot, kill enemies, get treasure and possibly gratitude. Wouldn't it be fun if they could do that these days, they wondered. It sure would be relaxing.

Fortunately, Mystara has Ierendi, a tropical island paradise chain that has a booming tourist economy and specializes in adventure safaris and adventure parks, basically short in-game LARPS or the magical equivalent of laser tag, made for people with money and the eminently sensible idea that real adventures are uncomfortable and dangerous so why on earth go on them?
The girls managed to find a week they could all make it, teleported over and got busy relaxing. Luxury spa resorts for the first bit, then one of the adventure scenarios: a 'local village' has suffered the predations of the evil giants in the nearby hills, and just now they came and kidnapped some poor farmer's daughter and are going to eat her; could the heroic adventurers please help her?
So Paladin the 'wizard', Sorcerer the 'fighter' and Cleric the 'rogue' set out to save the day.

After struggling with many obstacles like a 'deadly' 100'foot wide swamp, up a small rocky mound, defeating minor monsters a few trolls, some awkward tactics and only breaking character once (paladin instinct, you know, makes you jump in, take one for the team and smite the hell out of the opposition), they finally make it to the top of the mound where the giant drives them off then eats the 'girl'. This is the first time in their careers they have failed this badly at something, so it's back to the resort for more pampering.

Characters, players and GM had a blast with this session.

Titus would, when nobody is watching, sit back and read a good book. They didn't have any of those when he was a prisoner, and he never had time when on an adventure. He would probably also find a sparring partner to practice with, but that is kind of part of the regular routine.

inquisitor josyah "josé" rosépine would probably try to rest, except he doesn't know how to. knowing he's got a mischievous streak a league wide, he'd probably end up causing chaos in riddle-port's barracks (they're way too stuffy, but he likes them since without the navy he'd have never been sent to become an inquisitor). once that'd be done, he go back to cayden caillean's temple, sit at the counter with a nice glass of red wine and watch people, possibly getting leads for research possibly enjoying a bar-fight or three, and finally go to the library to work on knowing all about evil to better fight it. this of course would invariably involve headaches, nosebleeds, and fighting off possession. so basically, a regular tuesday morning for him. i've gone for the "fun-loving workaholic" character type for him. why choose between work and play when it can be both?

(retired character) doc frankalice belknap actually got his week off. he spent it doling out free medical assistance and being rewarded by having an unlimited tab at the pub in exchange, where he drank anisseed liquor, ate like a king and spent time with wonderful company playing cards and talking about the good old days. a grump he might've been, but damn if he didn't have friends and a generous personality. it was a welcome break from an otherwise frantic survival-horror campaign in a post-apocalyptic world.

(deceased and retired character) edward lucifer mercedes mcsubtle (of the clan mcsubtle), being a sociopath would probably go where her fancy dictated. she used to gravitate towards "fun" (read: highly explosive) areas, like armories, munitions factories, and bomb manufactories. or she'd go where there were bright lights and loud music. it might've involved a couple of accidental murders, manslaughter, and explosions. this is why she had a team around her at all times. not for her protection, but to minimize collateral damage. i may have loved this character, but i'm glad she's dead (thrown out of an airlock): the campaign setting almost didn't survive, and she was responsible for the single largest monster kill in the campaign setting (over 4000 casualties in a single attack: 6 low-yield nukes daisy chained together). needless to say, she left her mark on my gaming group.

no, i'll never have a character without a silly name or a weird quirk.

[Various Nicknames] would probably spend as much time as possible making art. All this adventuring stuff gets in the way of that. Might also spend some time going over maps looking for a place to create paradise.

Kelly's week off would probably be... well as he is a contractor it wouldn't be a planned vacation, just some time between jobs. So some of it would be job hunting, some training and staying in shape (without aggravating old wounds), fixing and issues with his jeep and some just watching the world go by. Of course this is assuming the week off happens before the events of the campaign, the campaign itself took less than a week (in world) and after that he retired, no need for vacations any more.

John would probably book some time at a resort and make himself really hard to contact to minimize the chance he gets called back into work. He would probably go five stars and manage to get a discount through some contacts in the company.

Ammanda's week off would probably involve getting drunk, drinking the most macho man in the room under the table and possibly beating him up with her bare hands as well. This might also change after the events of the campaign, when she had to return to the civilized world where people are too fragile.

Read books, hang out with scum and then get wasted.

Gustav would drink.

Pteppic would ask one of the court magicians to teach him more spells.

Ornrandir would attempt to research a new spell, or perhaps try to learn more about Germany's war plans.

Gwystyl would try to find books to see if he can find out more about his quest - who gave him the quest, where it's supposed to take him, what history led to it, or what, in fact, he's supposed to do.

Melody would spend time with her husband and little girl, between idly checking on her spy reports, considering kingdom intrigue, and composing music for the local bard college. Maybe practice her archery just to keep from getting rusty in retirement.

Fates would wander from tavern to tavern gambling at every opportunity, if there were any taverns left in Korvosa right now that is. Blasted queen ruining his home.

#4 would read all the books she could get her hands on, chat about math and planar cosmology with her friend Kasi, or listen to sermons on the glory of Azathoth from her friendly cleric 'Bthnk-nyth.

Task would be planning and formulating strategies for hunting and murdering chromatic dragons. Kind of a one track mind that guy.

Last two I played:

Tiefling Rogue called Smiley would be going over his reports to turn into his superiors within law enforcement

Dragonborn Sorceror Fu would be going over his recipes and testing his repertoire for new ones. As he can only relax when cooking in the kitchens.

Soltaire would spend the day with the windows open, all of the fans on and the fridge door wide open so that he could continue binge-watching cheesy B-Movies without having to wear his CoolSuite™ all the time. If pressed into leaving the apartment, he'd almost certainly end up in The Pit playing on the arcade games really badly before finally showing off on the Silent Scope machine. Some females at the bar might subsequently be interested, but absolutely none of them are able to tolerate the 45 solid minutes of his favourite quotes from Super-Mega-Zombie-Droids vs. Arachno-Zilla (Parts 3-through-7) that follow, for some reason.

Venris attends the public executions and, regardless of how many heretics, witches and mutants are put to the cleansing flame, whips the crowd up into a fury to go find some more, for the work of the truly devout Emperor's servant is never done. Repeat until the Inquisitor calls, and it's back on the job to hunt down and burn some REALLY interesting heretics....

Wult keeps running. Bögenhafen can never be far enough away. The forest can never be far away enough. And as for that thing in the tower.... No. Run. Always run.

Time off is awesome for crafting items or brewing potions . Or I could make a few extra gold coins and dig a ditch for farmer Prick ?

I roll for weather conditions so sometimes adventurers are stuck in the tavern for a few hours .

Lady Cerliwen would work on restoring her family's ancestral grimoire and get around to all the intelligence work she's meant to do but can't on account of the party's tendency to get into trouble within 24 hours of arriving in any town: ingratiating herself with local figures, finding local connections and safehouses, spreading propaganda, writing reports to the Queen...

Lets see...

Errant wouldn't likely understand the concept of a week off. But in a peaceful week?
Spend his time near The Source, praying and meditating and staying out of Porter and Gage's way. Talking to Fen.

POX would likely not notice he had a week off at all. He builds contraptions and devices for fun just as much as for profit. He's the type of guy to get bored and build a brand new kind of crossbow that shoots sawblades filled with nitro glycerine just to see what happens. And then go infect people with a nanomachine plague that turns them into metal skeleton-zombies because Rassmuss said such a plague would produce good data.

Half my characters (Dr. Aureant, Dr. Blelyj, Dr. John, Tanner's Knife, maybe Dr. Boots) would spend their downtime doing SCIENCE*.

*SCIENCE may or may not be MAD
