This is not about having three attunment items max. This is about what you can wear and use

1. Can you have a magic robe or other armor and use a cloak as well
2. How many magic rings can you use, 1 for each finger?
3. What about amulet, brooch, medallion, necklace, periapt,
They are all a neck item per dictionary.

Is there info on this. Thanks

Page 141 of the DMG talks about "multiple items of the same kind". It simply says use common sense. If it is not blatantly ridiculous, you can wear said item. Ring for each finger, multiple necklaces, choker+necklaces+brooch, etc. It even goes as far as to say you can layer multiple capes/cloaks at the same time. I still personally use the slot restrictions from 3.X because it feels more "legit".

There is no limit except the 3 attuned and common sense (DM judgement). You can't wear boots if you don't have feet.

But yeah, what they said. The attunement restriction already stops you doing anything crazy, so just use common sense for the rest. Also, don't let anyone tell you can't wear more than one belt (https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/finalfantasy/images/5/5b/FFX_Lulu_Art.png/revision/latest?cb=20140809031913). :smalltongue:

As that is clearly a boot- singular -and not a pair of boots the point still stands.:smalltongue:
Also- assuming magical boots there -would the effect even work if you only wear one of them?:smallconfused:
I would assume you have to wear the full set for it to work.

Well, you can't tell in the picture, but he has a second boot underneath the first boot.

I just made ruling for my games. You have to wear both boots and you have wear them on your feet.

So just to get the right ideas.
A magic cloak works over a magic robe
And you would allow a person to wear o e of each amulet, brooch, medallion, necklace, periapt?

Pretty sure the DMG specifically calls out boots and says you can't wear one of one type and one of another type and get the benefits of both. However, it doesn't say that wearing just one on your only foot would keep you from benefiting from the one. (IIRC, AFB)

If you want to wear 2 cloaks layered over a robe and 10 different doodads around your neck that fine. Good luck finding enough useful ones that don't required attunement though.

You mean if you had a peg-leg? I'd allow the enchantment to work in that case, which kind of implies you only need to be touching one boot for it to work in general (even if you put the other boot on the peg, you're only really wearing one of them).

Sure. And you can wear 20 rings

But an Elven Cloak over a Robe of Eyes means they can't see you and you can't see them. While a Robe of Eyes over an Elven Cloak means you can see them and they can see you.
