View Full Version : Targeting Creatures vs Objects

Some spells target only creatures. Other spells target only objects.

For example, eldritch blast only targets creatures. This prevents warlocks from using the repelling blast invocation to knock down doors, walls, or whole buildings. However, it doesn't stop a level 2 warlock from repelling a giant, or a dragon, or a primordial. Perhaps a size limit would have been wise. It seems more reasonable that this spell would work on a door than a gargantuan creature.

Is there any need for this distinction? I think the game would be better if it were simplified. To my thinking, this is an unnecessary stipulation.

No. It was intentional. WotC and Mike Mearls is all powerful and all knowing. If you think otherwise, you are inferior.

Bow to your masters. Obey. Mate Feed Sleep Repeat

Feel like I'm missing a story, here.
