So, am I reading this right, and you can only apply one enhancement per casting (with exception to if you have Dual Enhancement with say Physical Enhancement)? That just seems...lackluster compared to the Alteration sphere, which has most of the enhancement stuff, and can apply multiple effects at once (and gets larger versatility per talent invested).

I mean, I guess it works as a low efficiency mana sink for when you just don't know what else to do with your spell points. Is that basically the whole point of the sphere?

With Deep Enhancement, you can make enhancements last 10min/CL. Alteration's equivalent, Lingering Transformation, only gets you 2min/CL.
Enhancement defaults to Close range, compared with Touch for Alteration. This means Mass Enhancement is great right out of the box, whereas Mass Alteration needs at least one instance of Ranged Alteration to be practical most of the time.
Hostile Enhancements target Will, Alterations target Fort. Most monsters have good Fort saves.
Friendly Enhancements typically occupy a different buff space than Alterations anyway; they're more focused on numeric-increase buffs than granting sexy new abilities.
