Is there an equivalent to True Seeing for illusory sounds? Simple question maybe, but it was only pointed out to me today that True Seeing could beat a magic mouth.

I don't think so, but I'd love to be proven wrong. Reasonable, too, since I keep learning about new spells I just never noticed before.

A DC 80 Listen check (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/epic/skills.htm#listen)?

If there isn't, it would be totally reasonable to research one. It might even be a level lower, given that sound illusions are rarer and less impactful, in general...

Seems like a pretty solid contender there...

I'd hoped I could skim Complete Scoundrel for something, but there's remarkably little about listening in that book. The Listen To This skill trick is pretty much the only mechanical booster there, apparently (but I always forget about Jabberweed. I need to use that as a DM, I don't think my chances of using it as a player are very high.)

Arcane Sight can tell you there's an illusion effect there, but won't help if you don't have line of sight. Permanent arcane sight is amazingly useful, as an aside.
