I was flipping through Horror Realms today and the Scarred Monk caught my eye. It's a neat concept, but I'm unsure if it's viable.
Anyone have any opinions on it?

So alternate Ki abilities:
Armor of scars is okay, but normal ki can/grants barkskin as an ability.
Contortionist is cool.
Most of the abilities are pretty cool, but I'd prefer it was added to normal Qui-gon choices.

They're creepy but there's nothing there that the normal qinggong powers can't beat handily. Good for an NPC monk that you want to have some horror-themed abilities, but bad for PCs that prioritize actual effectiveness. Even contortionist is a waste of time when you can use gaseous form instead.

Is there any potential in mixing Qinggong Monk and Scarred Monk?

I would have to say no. The only mortification that's potentially worth being a ki power is the True Seeing one; all the rest are either too situational, completely useless, or more easily done using other powers, even at a 6:3 exchange rate.

Thats kind of sad. It's such an awesome concept, it's a real shame they made it so weak.
