I need help to find a good theme song for a recurrent villain. A bit about the villain, he's an all-powerful lich who wants to build an empire of his own through any means necessary.
The music can derivate from games, films, or anything else, just can't be "The Imperial March" level of recognition. Also, something that has no lyrics is preferable, but not necessary.
Thanks.

@TheYell Can you please post the link for it for I do not have the required posts to be able to put down links. Thank you.

I suggest maybe poking around the Fire Emblem soundtracks, they don't lack villain pieces and as a bonus, often with both a calm and a battle variant. For example, from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, we have the main villain's pair: Burning Ambition (https://youtu.be/txpD8RE6T6w) and To Challenge Ashnard (https://youtu.be/gzPALUcCfbg). I mean the usual song to grab from there would be the Black Knight themes, but those don't seem all too Lich-ish. But I will admit that Gamecube era soundfonts can be a bit off-putting... those brass instruments have not aged well. Good thing we have a new/old game to pull from! And how nice of them to have fully orchestrated themes for every major opponent in the game!

From Shadows of Valentia, I bring Lich-ish bounty! (Spoiler warning for awesome music.) I have three suggestions from that game.

- First off, let's just do a fancy Latin operatic theme for your leader of an evil empire kind of deal: Lord of a Dead Empire (https://youtu.be/73Veyuy4kKg). It might be a bit too straightforward, though. Oh, and no, this isn't the final boss theme.
- Secondly, perhaps you want a more tragic but no less scary vibe going on, because if so, I can offer Praise this Despair (https://youtu.be/W3-GTKUgYX4), which despite actually being a battle theme... has a battle remix that just goes off the wall in The Scions' Dance in Purgatory (https://youtu.be/gP_HG-cVlfo). And no, this is still not the final boss.
- But I think for a Lich, this is what you'd want: The Mad God's Blessings (https://youtu.be/9dxn1xrNzSE)! Let it play. You have a deceptively calm intro, and then the horror hits. And then it gets worse. And then it gets weird. Basically the theme of "This is powerful. This is wrong. RUN!" Which is very Lich. And no, this is not the final boss either, it's not even a fight theme.

For the record, if you're curious what the final boss theme actually sounds like in a game that hands out unique Latin chanting songs to any and all boss that is even slightly plot relevant... it sounds like this: The Fell God's Tempest (https://youtu.be/uUoURi6igwY). Bet you didn't hear that coming. I don't think that song works for anything but the boss it's attached to.

In short, for all your undead villain needs, try poking through Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia's villain themes. It's got... plenty. I just picked out some favorites.

Thanks.

You can render the Imperial March pretty unrecognizable by running it through audacity and dropping the speed by 70-90% and then applying heavy leveling

Thank all of you guys. You showed some really good stuff there, but I'll take some of McNum suggestions. I think The Mad God's Blessings indeed suits me better of all others, the tension, the discomfort of hearing it, and the creepy coral that feels like souls in torment under the lich's control. I might take the others suggestions to others villains, but for this one I think The Mad God's Blessings just fits too well.
