Shadow Master
Sometimes faking it is just as good, if not better, than the real thing.

The Shadow Master is a man who has spent too long within the realm of shadow. He has stared into the darkness and it stared back. Upon rejoining the material plane, he has found that he can see and shape the shadow around himself. This ability grants him great powers of illusion.

Adventures: Most Shadow Masters adventure as a way to gain an idea of what people look like, and what monsters people fear. That way they can use this agains them. They need to see the horrors of the world to truly scare people with illusions.

Characteristics: The most powerful asset to a Shadow Master is his ability to outwit his opponent. to use illusions of spells and monsters to make himself seem as if he was a strong magic user. Or at least had many beings under his control.

Alignment: Shadow Masters are Lawful. They prefer to plan things out and make things go according to his plans. A good Shadow Master uses his illusions to scare monsters away from villages, help people on the run. Evil Shadow Masters work to make people do their bidding They make illusions and falsehoods to convince someone of their position.

Religion:Generally Shadow Masters worship Olidimarra for she does enjoy sneaky people, and the shadows are naturally sneaky. But they can worship most any god. Some of the good ones worship Pelor, "To bring light into their darkness."

Backgrounds: A Shadow Master can come from any upbringing. They just have to end up ont he plane fo Shadow. Which can be from anything to an accident, leaving them stranded. Or if someone just wants to be rid of you, and tosses you into the plane of the shadow.

Other Classes: Most Evil Shadow Masters see the other classes as pawns to get what he wants done. Good Shadow Masters See other classes as a complement to his powers. sending goblins into a trap of heavily armed group. Or making himself seem to be the party wizard, while the real wizard covertly casts spells at others.

Role: Magic Users, diplomats, tricksters, and very good liars. Becuase sometimes, you just need to bluff your way out of a situation

Summon Shadow
At 3rd level, a Shadow Master can summon a shadow, an undead shade. Unlike a normal shadow, this shadow’s alignment matches that of the shadowdancer, and the creature cannot create spawn. The summoned shadow cannot be turned, rebuked, or commanded by any third party. This shadow serves as a companion to the Shadow Master and can communicate intelligibly with the shadowdancer. Every third level gained by the shadowdancer adds +2 HD (and the requisite base attack and base save bonus increases) to her shadow companion.

If a shadow companion is destroyed, or the Shadow Master chooses to dismiss it, the Shadow Master must attempt a DC 15 Fortitude save. If the saving throw fails, the Shadow Master loses 200 experience points per Shadow Master level. A successful saving throw reduces the loss by half, to 100 XP per prestige class level. The Shadow Master’s XP total can never go below 0 as the result of a shadow’s dismissal or destruction. A destroyed or dismissed shadow companion cannot be replaced for 30 days.

Aura of Shadow
Upon returning to the Matieral Plane, Shadow Masters notice that he can still see the shadow realm in certain things. He also realizes that he can manipulate it. At first level, A Shadowmaster can change small things about appearance, and leave them like that without concentrating. Small things like lengthening his ears to points to look like an elf. Change the color of his shirt, make a hinge look rusted. He can only maintain half his HD in shadow illusions. He must be within half a mile of the illusions for them to remain. If he changes himself, he gains a +5 bonus to disguise. This bonus does not stack with those granted by spells.

Look Alike
This second level ability allows a Shadow Master to make his shadow look exactly like the Shadow Master's original form. The shadow cannot speak common, and people only get will saves when touching the shadow, or when the shadow touches the person. It takes a swift action to activate and requires Concentration checks if distracted.

Shadow Evocation (Su)
This allows you to cast the spell Shadow Evocation or Shadow Conjuration as a spell like ability a number of times per day equal to half your Shadow Master level, rounded down. (Minimum 1). (DC is 14+Cha bonus)

True Seeing
A Shadow Master of level 3 can choose to see his own illusions as they truly are (wisps of shadow) or as others see them. (As real things.)
Since he has much experience with illusions, he gains a +2 bonus to will saves versus illusions, and a +5 to spot checks to notice any illusions a person has on himself.

Greater Aura
This level of Aura allows the 4th level Shadow Master to change the appearance of things more greatly. He can now make or change an entire wardrobe of his liking. He can change to look like any race that is similar in size to his own. He can make a door look like a wall. (medium creatures must stay medium, small creatures must stay small, etc.) He can only maintain as many illusions as his HD. He must be within half a mile of the illusions for them to remain. This grants the Shadow Master a +10 to disguise checks, This bonus does not stack with those granted by spells.

Exact Match
This allows the Shadow Master to make his look alike speak as if he was speaking. He must be within a mile of the shadow. He controls what his look alike says and it requires a move action to activate and requires a concentration check if distracted.

Greater Shadow Evocation (Su)
This allows you to cast the spell Greater Shadow Evocation or Greater Shadow Conjuration as a spell like ability a number of times per day equal to half your Shadow Master level, rounded down. (Minimum 1). (DC is 17+Cha bonus)

Complete Aura
At Level 8 a Shadow Master has such control over the shadow he sees, that he can make things appear from nothing but air. He cannot make things speak, but he can make an empty hall seem as if it was full of people. He can change to look like anybody, or make a completely new look. He can make the edge of a forest look like a wall. He can take on the appearance of anything double or half his size. He can only maintain a total of double of his HD in illusions. (One size bigger or one size smaller.) He must be within half a mile of the illusions for them to remain. He even has the granted ability to help blend into his surroundings. Able to look like objects. The Shadow Master gains a +15 to disguise checks. This bonus does not stack with those granted by spells

Shade (Su)
This allows you to cast the spell Shade as a spell like ability a number of times per day equal to half your Shadow Master level, rounded down. (Minimum 1). (DC is 19+Cha bonus)

Things I need help with:
- It's not exactly worded as well as I was hoping. I'll be making adjustments.
- Power level? I'm personally thinking it's weak unless in the hands of someone who is good at playing with minds.
- I made this with political and not much combat in mind. Any changes to make it fit a more overall theme, or should I just stick to what I'm thinking.
