This is definitely a work in progress, so feel free to suggest etc. This concept came up while reading some of the info on Thay in Unapproachable East.

Powerful abilities but complex requirements (I know nothing of Grafts) and the "A Red Wizard can not modify himself." clause justify them all, I think. Very cool, makes for a terrifying NPC villain modifying his minions (and victims). Ironically, also encourages an evil-aligned party member to be more of a team player by increasing the power level of his allies! Very nice.
