Good Dragons for Dragon Ally

I have the dragon ally spell and am wondering what may be some good dragon allies to call? For reference the HD limit is 15 and I cannot call multiple dragons with it.

If it's 3.5 and the option for a force dragon within the HD limit that's what I would suggest otherwise pick an element and there you go

Epic Dragons are definitely not on the list. My DM is just happy to pretend they don't exist. I am more curious about spiffy non-true dragon options since those tend to have inflated HDs.

Um, I guess a Half-Dragon Cleric could be nice. Never hurts to have more Clerics.

Since your limit is HD rather than ECL, maybe you could just stack templates on top of that? Half-Ogre Primordial Giant Mineral Warrior Shadow Creature Phrenic Saint Half-Dragon ____.
