Currently in my Pathfinder campaign i've introduced an eco-terrorist group known as Red Hand, who are attempting to stop and reverse the growth of industrial cities. But I'm still having trouble trying to make the leader of the group into a villain that will fit both mastermind and good for the final boss battle when taking down the group.

Have you created an eco-terrorist villain before? I know druid is an obvious route, but I'm currently seeking ideas for builds or personalities. While this is a pathfinder campaign, all 3.5 content is welcome.

I have done this a few couple times before. One time was a direct expy of Poison Ivy from the Batman series. Another time I went a bit more macabre and made a siabrae (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/templates/siabrae-cr-2/), focused more on bringing death to all that was unnatural and raising the animals/plants killed by urban sprawl, deforestation, pollution, etc etc against the living. I once made an LG monk an eco terrorist-leading a group that liberated animals, lobbied, and took out the worst of the worst offenders but used peaceful protest and demonstrations when possible.

You don't have to do druid, but you probably want them to be INT or WIS based, and you don't want to dump charisma on a leader. Cleric works really well for this-grab the plant and animal domain and you are basically a druid that channels energy. You can go with any alignment for the boss. Poison Ivy is pretty Lawful Evil, although you could argue neutral evil. A neutral eco terrorist could exist if the balance was really skewed, and good aligned eco terrorists are probably just well intentioned extremists. Chaotic evil usually does not care about nature, but if they want the monsterous fury of nature reclaiming all and it going back to the dog eat dog days of pre civilization, that would be pretty cool.

Well, what ever you build him to do, he MUST have a giant hate on for Tiamat (or the pathfinder equivilant) for having a slimy group of hobgoblins steal his group's name.

That said, on a more serious note, I suggest a disease/poison focused druid. Yes, animal attacks are deadly, but a casting of contagion can stop a logging operation in it's tracks for weeks as crippling sickness kills. Tainted food makes things worse. He can be a shadow, starting the sickness in a pack animal or even training rats to spread filth fever as sacrificial pawns. Sickness can flow into places he wouldn't be able to reach on his own.

Mythic greater Contageon on a creature with high enough fortitude saves to auto pass the save VS the sickness basically turns into a walking plague. The duration is unlimited and anyone it touches gets the sickness.

I'm a big fan of Talontar Blightlord for evil druids or druid-like characters.

In Eberron, the Ashbound sect of Druids are a good example of how to use an eco-terrorist group rather well, or perhaps Children of Winter.

I built a Blighter (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=16084326&postcount=268) for the Iron Chef Thrall of Orcus round who might fit the bill. Also, in the Villainous Competition (Fallen Corrupter) round, there are two I can think of that might work well for you: Kobayashi (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=20699481&postcount=56), and The Green Man (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showsinglepost.php?p=20699500&postcount=61).

Villainous Competition 2 (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?400517-Villainous-Competition-Round-2-Or-Give-me-something-evil!) had the "Nature's Revenger" theme. You might find some inspiration there. (My entry was a Warforged Totemist17/Reforged 3).

Wow, didn't expect so much good help so fast

I really love the idea of the poison/disease route, and so I am going to work with the idea of giving rats and other vermin diseases to spread.
