So I'm trying to play a Human Male Marshal, and I came to figuring my weight, and I realized that the male weight (120) times the minimum modifier x(2d4) equals 240, I also got my height to be 5' 9", but isn't that pretty overweight, or am I reading the text wrong?

The dice roll given in the Height Modifier column determines the character’s extra height beyond the base height. That same number multiplied by the dice roll or quantity given in the Weight Modifier column determines the character’s extra weight beyond the base weight.
Maximum random weight for a human male is a 20 on the 2d10 for height, and then an 8 on the 2d4 for weight multiplier. So 120+160 = 280 maximum weight.

5'9" for height would be an 11 on the die. So your weight would be between 120+11*2 and 120+11*8. So between 144 pounds and 208 pounds.

Interestingly, a maximum height maximum weight half-orc is 6'10" and 438 lbs.

I think you're reading it wrong. You roll a number (2d10, for a human male) and add it to their height, then you multiply that number by the weight modifier (2d4) and add it to the base weight. So if you're 5ft 9in, your height roll had to be 11; thus, you'd multiple 11 by 2d4 to get a weight of 144-208lb.

Or, you know, you just pencil in whatever you want.

The minimum modifier is not a modifier of your base weight, but is multiplied by your height roll, then added to your weight. If you're 5' 9'', you add 2d4 x 11 pounds to your base weight of 120, giving you possible weights from 144 to 208 lb.

You don't multiply the base weight by the modifier. You add your modifier weight to it. I don't know how you're supposed to do in in 3.5, but it is probably a multiple of your extra rolled height, or you are missing something and it's actually something like 10x2d4.
