Simulcrum question

Can you have more than 1 simulcrum at a time. I got a player who is creating an army of them. I thought I read somewhere that you could only create 1 at a time.

There is no limitation within the rules that stops you from doing that. But then again, a DM can put any limit if he so desires.

You would need some thought bottle or mirror mephit shenanigans to avoid running out of XP very quickly though.
