I have been tinkering around with E-6 character ideas, not really hyper optimizing but making cool builds that culminate at level 6 and enjoy the idea of getting tons of feats instead of levels / higher casting. Need some help / thoughts on this build:

Burning hands! Human warmage 1/wizard 1/ sorcerer 1/duskblade 1 /X/X. Basically, 4 classes with spells /day that can cast burning hands. First 4 feats are practiced spellcaster for +4 to caster level. Then arcane thesis burning hands. Its gimmicky, not OP, but 15ish castings of 5d6 cone fire damage. Fiery spell and searing spell for 5 extra damage and breaking through immunities later. It is MAD a little but what I want to find are more arcane casters capable of casting burning hands as an arcane spell. Are there any? Or any classes that round it out a bit? I was thinking warlock for more on demand damage even if it is 1d6, and shatter at will.

You could just be a Totemist and bind Shedu Crown (I think) for a similar at-will effect -- fire damage 1d4 + 1d4/essentia, 15 ft. cone.

Or you could be a Dragonfire Adept (3d6 fire damage) -- with the right Invocation, your allies are immune to the damage; with the right feat, your enemies are Entangled.

Instead of taking Practiced Spellcaster a bunch, just dip Trickster (variant) Spellthief 1 and take the Master Spellthief feat, which among other things, lets your Arcane spellcasting classes stack for the purposes of determining CL (IIRC). Sadly, Trickster Spellthieves get Bard-like spellcasting progression, so you won't have any 1st level Spellthief spell slots to cast Burning Hands with (unless you use metamagic cheese).

Note that the Master Spellthief feat only increases the maximum level of spell that you can steal, not the number of spell levels that you can hold.

You can also take the Fiery Burst reserve feat to get a 3d6, 5-foot burst of flame at will. It also gives you +1 to caster level with fire spells, which is handy at level 6 because it gives you the second attack when you cast Scorching Ray.

Shari, adept, and the fire domain

For the cost of a feet, you can get God's blood Spell theft for spell thief and attach it to the fire domain, and then you can steal your own spells and turned them into burning hands http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/frcc/20070606

Although, you might want to check to see if you get more castings from a metamagic specialist sorcerer 6 with heighten spell. At level 6, you have 14 burning hands, 15 of you have precocious apprentice, 18 if you have versatile spellcaster feat and convert your level 0s spell slots. With heighten spell you get a few higher dc saves also. With arcane thesis, you can also take energy substitution and admixture to get that up to 10d6.

Come to think of it, warmage gets the same number of slots, plus they get edge damage, a larger hit die, and light armor. Plus, versatile spellcaster hijinx plus bonus spells for high charisma.

Human warmage 6
1. Heighten spell, versatile spellcaster
3. Energy sub (sonic?)
6. Energy admixture
7. Arcane thesis
8. Blistering
9. Searing spell
10. Enlarge spell
11. Mastery of fire and ice

I believe the feat Energy Subsititution (one type) may be worth grabbing, for shockong hands, or freezing hands.

The Wild Mage PrC could be entered. It might be able to boost you Caster Level. Sometimes.

A Binder with Amon can deal 1d6/level in a line 10ft/level long. Just for completion's sake.

Or you could be a Dragonfire Adept (3d6 fire damage) -- with the right Invocation, your allies are immune to the damage; with the right feat, your enemies are Entangled.
+1 to this-- Dragonfire Adept will let you murder things with fire all day long, along with options for other sorts of damage and debuffs. (Slow Breath is horrific). Plus some dope Lesser Invocations at 6th-- Humanoid Shape can do horrible, horrible things (did you know Dark Stalkers get 3d6 Sneak Attack? That Stingtail Asabi get a poison that forces two separate saves? That you can be a frickin Huge Constrictor Naga?)

And yeah, it's only 3d6... to start.

If you can take Power Surge (from Dragon 313), you can nab +1 damage/die... and force a one-round recharge. Meaning you have a breath weapon with a recharge time expressed in rounds, meaning you can apply metabreath feats like Maximize and Empower.
Breath of Siberys adds another 1d6 if you have a dragonmark.
Mortalbane adds another 2d6 five times/day
Knowledge Devotion works for all damage rolls. DFAs have an invocation that gives them +6 on all Knowledge checks and lets them use them untrained.

There's also 3.5e Dragonborn who can get a breath weapon, but they're a race rather than a class, so maybe not relevant here..

Mortalbane adds another 2d6 five times/day

I think Mortalbane is only for spell-like abilities, so it's good for a Warlock, but not a DFA (whose breath weapon is supernatural rather than spell-like).
