I recently found and fell in love with the spell Nybor's Psychic Imprint (http://archive.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mb/20041215a) but holy heck is it hard to make usable.

What entertaining builds can you come up with to make this usable in combat? What can you do with it once you can reliably cast and hit with it?
All source books and dragon mag content are on the table. Level of build is largely irrelevant.

Not an area, but the same effect (multiple targets)

get into eldritch theurge and use eldritch spellweave on eldritch chain with nybor's psychic imprint. then you'll be able to get multiple dudes.

it requires you cast the spell as an arcane spell, so some of the standard ways of quickening the casting time of this thing such as making it a sla via spellstitching are out.

even if you need to stick with the 1 hour time and just bring a ringer and cast it in a massage parlor or something, it's still pretty good.

Am unfamiliar with the spell, could it be used with the War Spell spell template (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=306567)?

the spell is in the link in the op. this spell takes longer than a minute, so is ineligible for the template

Funnily enough Psychic Imprint is used as an example in the second post of that thread. Ill have to wait until I'm home to check if its actually valid..

wizard 7/cleric1/dweomer keeper 10/arcane archer 2

(I know its lazy entry to dweomer keeper)

So supernatural spell to take out the material component and SR:yes, War spell to make it hit essentially everyone in a 20ft burst, Arcane archer to make it a standard action.

Add in irritable spell from dragon lance to remove the will save.

All that remains after that is taking care of the mind affecting tag on a transmutation spell :S.

Of course I might be missing something that makes none of that work.

Casting Time: 1 round or less becomes 1 minute, 1 minute or multiple rounds becomes 10 minutes
No spot for spells with a casting time longer than 1 minute, so no.
