Devourer - Imprison Soul Question

Hey everybody,

I have a scenario that just happened in my game that kind of left me and my party...asking more questions. A PC was imprisoned by a Devourer after he had dropped to 0 hp. The party cleric then used the dismissal action from the Dispel Good and Evil spell to send the Devourer back to its' native plane. Now, with the PC imprisoned inside the Devourer, but still alive, would they be dropped back to the ground or would they go with the Devourer?

I'd think since they're imprisoned in the devourer they would go with it, which could be problematic

From a RAW perspective I fear Graysire is correct.

Once you take possession of something its yours until someone takes it back.

That said, if you wanted to be nice you could just say the shock of the spell caused it to release the soul.
