View Full Version : Pathfinder Wilderness Encounter for Magus & Ranger?

I had a scenario all mapped out for my next game session, but thanks to player absence it doesn’t look like it’ll work out.

So, I need an encounter suited for just two PCs, a magus and a ranger. They are both second level, both with a tendency to wade into melee. The ranger is TWF, decently armored and able to hold his own; the magus, not so much on either point.

I’m open to all official Pathfinder and 3.5 content. Can anyone suggest an encounter that would work for just these two characters?

Anything?

Creature, scenario, anything at all?

Some goblins..?

Anything with a CR of 1/2 or 1? At that level even simple encounters can be swingy.

Maybe some wild elves they meet, they have to talk their way out of becoming pin cushions?

I'd say just pick a ~ cr 1 animal; and make it alone by some excuse.
I mean, finding a cr 1 animal in the wilderness is pretty much what one would expect.

Thanks, but I was hoping for something that would fit well with a low-level magus and ranger.

Just looking for off-the-wall ideas here.
