O.k. so I have this model (http://www.reapermini.com/gallery/2400s/2496_G) and (despite having difficulties painting it), I've been wondering how to (potentially) incorporate it into a game...

...So, is there a "Plant Golem" or "Swamp Golem" that anyone knows of, or would it be better modelled as something else? I did consider it as a really big Bogun, but they don't increase in size with advanced HD and this chappy is definitely bigger than Tiny  . Could it be a reflavoured Shield Guardian instead? What about in terms of a Player Character? Could it be one? If so, what race woul it be? Or would it be better kept as a monster/golem-esque critter? Thoughts?

Are there still Shambling Mounds in D&D? Or did those drop out after 2nd edition?

I do agree that it's some kind of plant golem or bogun, though.

I think so...but this dude doesn't really strike me as a 'mound...too humanoid. Though perhaps the rules for a 'mound might be appropriate...[goes to look for Shambling Mound stats]

I'm not sure about the size of the model you have there, but you could use it as a Verdant Reaver (http://shadow.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fc/20070806a) (a new monster from MMV).

Or homebrew a new monster.

There is a moss/plant golem made by druids somebody created for MitpII

You could call it a Flesh Golem that has been overgrown by swamp.

Shambling mounds are basically "Swamp Thing". Or you could call it a "Compost Golem" or something.

Screams Troll to me.
I don't care if it doesnt look like a D&D troll I'm all for not every monster looking identical to all other monsters of its race. :P

In comparison to 'normal' sized miniatures in the same range, he could be expected to be anything from about 7ft, up to 8 1/2 or (at a push) 9ft tall in "real" terms...so in D&D terms he would be Large size.
