Well I finally became one of the bajillion people caving to Firefox. I'm liking it so far and have found some of the cool add ons but are there any that are useful and/or cool to have?

Also how does everyone have theirs skinned? I think it'd be interesting to see how everyone has theirs customized (as well as providing ideas for others)

I'm currently taking almost any suggestions so............have at it you wacky Foxy people (And yes that includes you Syka )

Mine is un-themed, but I have a few add-ons. Make sure you have the latest one with spell-checking...

Adblock... (oh so very useful; blocks advertisements)
All-in-one gestures (simple mouse gestures to perform common actions)
British English Dictionary (it lacks some words, like 'numpty', but does its best)
BugMeNot (good for when I need drivers; logs you into sites with free accounts)
Deutches Woterbuch (my German spelling is plain bad)
Dictionnaire MySpell en Francais (my French is not much better)
Foxy Tunes (controls your music player from Firefox)
IE View (sometimes, bad webmasters make non W3C-compliant sites; opens a page in Internet Exploder)
Sun Cult (forum rules say I can't tell you why I use this; lists sunrise and set, with moon phases)

I lurve the Firefox. Been using it since it was Firebird, and before that Phoenix.

I don't reskin it, but I disable the bookmarks toolbar and I use small icons.

I use the following extensions:
Firesomething (changes name of Firefox window to random names)
Firebug (it's the win button of web development)
DOM Inspector (another web dev tool)
Web Dev toolbar (can you tell what I do for a living)
AdBlock Plus (I can't even remember what popup ads look like)
Download Manager Tweak (opens download manager in a tab instead of window)

Oh! This thread again. Well, it's good that we have new Fx users.

My theme of choice was Brushed. But it died.
So I switched to iFox Graphite.

My plugins are:
- Flashgot: Download manager. Essential. I can't believe there was a time where I didn't use this.
- Mouse Gestures: I grew so used to this that I miss it when outside Fx.
- TabOverflow Scrollbar
- Download Embedded
- Switch Proxy Tool. For those sneaky moments.

Love Firefox, can't stand anything else anymore.

I don't use any skins. Plain is fine.

My add ons were mentioned, with an extra plug of Clip marks. Love their weekly mash up.

I absolutely love Firefox! *huggles and snuggles the browser* It's awesome (even though it kills my laptop with RAM consumption issues).

As for recommended add-ons:
Ad-Block Plus
Ad-Block Plus: Element Hiding Helper
Colorzilla
Download Statusbar
Foxclocks
Foxmarks Bookmark Synchonizer (Allows you to use the same bookmarks on multiple computers. This is incredibly handy for me as I switch from 5 different computers)

My current theme:
Gradient Gray

No theme at the moment, and all of my addons have been mentioned (although I must stress the awesomeness of Ad-Block), I just wanted to show some love for firefox.

Theme: GrApple (Eos Pro) 3.4 - Nice and clean without a lot of color. I HATE color in my toolbar and if there was someway to get rid of that colored google icon in the search thingy I'd be all over that.

No other add-ons needed at the moment.

The Download Statusbar plugin is great, thanks for the tip. I didn't have it and it's pretty useful.

It's great to be able to add functionality to your browser like this, I think customizability is the way to go for discerning users.

I never tried Opera enough to have an opinion, but I like Firefox a lot. It came installed in my latest system so I tried it and I loved it. I was a Netscape fan before, but the only thing I miss about it is opening links in new windows/tabs with middle button.
Can you do that in Firefox somehow?

My theme is called Pimpzilla (And it's not quite as bad as it sounds.) It has shiny gold and leopardskin patterning.

more functional addons:
All in one sidebar (exactly what it sounds like)
Status bar Ex (tells me a wide variety of technical data)
And of course, Talkback and DOM inspector

EDIT: And thanks to these links I now have
Download imbeded
Gmail Manager
leet key (wh1(h 15 73h r0x, un71| 1 f0r637 h0w 70 7urn 17 84(k.)

Firefox does open links in a new tab if you middle-click (by default, I think). Then again, I'm using 2.0.0.6 currently, not sure if it works in older versions.

Oh, silly me :p I use it everyday and can't tell :p I remember now, this was before I got used to tabs, so it felt weird that it didn't open new windows like Netscape does. I didn't use tabs in NS, though I knew it had them. And yes, it's a feature of the program since its first versions, at least since 1.4.

This isn't very useful i know, i don't know if ne1 said this already, and i dont know what its called. I have a program that displays the weather forecast (and current) in the bottom right hand corner, its helpful, updated well, and easy to use/customize.

Ctrl+Click is how I do it. I think that's default, but I can't remember for sure.

Anyone uses the VideoDownloader (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2390) plugin? It lets you download videos from Youtube and all those places. I figured as I use the guy's page to do it already, I'd try the plugin.

I reccomend Foxytunes, the download status bar, and the english dictionary.

Although, IMO Opera is vastly superior to Firefox in almost every way.

Opera (www.opera.com)

All I have to say on the topic of 'Fox.

Depends on the reviewers. All pro-Firefox reports 'prove' FireFox is the answer to all the internets problems.

Actual non-biased third party reviews put Opera at slightly faster and safer than FireFox, but it does also have a few minor poblems running noncompliants scripts. Opera also has a lot of the most common feature built right into it rather than being unmonitored third party creations. Opera also has better support for CSS and the other standards. Beyond that, the abolsute fanatasism of FireFox users is a big turn off as well as just how pretentious the entire organistaion feels.

And yes. Opera comes in a package 3/4 the size of FireFox and uses like half the memory.

I also feel it has much cleaner, friendlier, and intuitive interface.

um isnt firefox a Russian super jet that was stolen by Clint Eastwood and brought to America? :smallwink:
