Which happens 1st with Mirror Image?

Forgive me if this has been asked before.

If a 10th level Hexblade Warlock has Mirror Image on and has his Hexblade Curse on his target, and his target attacks him, does the Hexblades 10th level ability ( roll 1d6 if 4,5,6 is rolled, attack misses) function before the enemy attacks your images or after he attacks your images?

If it's before then I'll have to start using it on boss fights.

I assume mirror image is resolved first. Armor of Hexes says "If the target of your hexblade's curse would hit you with an attack roll..." So this says to me that first you must determine if you are actually hit or if it hits your images.
