Hello, long time lurker first time poster.

Looking to build an encounter where the pc's go up agaisnt vile counterparts of themselves.

Party consists of: V.o.P Monk-12,
Fighter-2/pali-7/fist of raziel-3
And a rogue-9/slayer of domiel-3.

Trying to come up with some interesting variations, blackgaurd and assasin are obvious but kind of meh.

Any thoughts?

Mirror of Opposition will do this:

This item resembles a normal mirror about 4 feet long and 3 feet wide. It can be hung or placed on a surface and then activated by speaking a command word. The same command word deactivates the mirror. If a creature sees its reflection in the mirror’s surface, an exact duplicate of that creature comes into being. This opposite immediately attacks the original. The duplicate has all the possessions and powers of its original (including magic). Upon the defeat or destruction of either the duplicate or the original, the duplicate and her items disappear completely. The mirror functions up to four times per day.

Just remove the item's restrictions, refluff the duplicate's abilities and rename them to fit a more evil theme.

For example, the Slayer of Domiel's vile version would have Death Touch vs. Good creatures and Detect Good as a SLA.

The paladin PC can easily be replaced by Paladin of Slaughter or Tyranny, both found in the SRD, refluffing the PrC abilities to affect Good creatures rather than evil.

VoP monk can be tricky, unless you just say he's an evil non loot wearing monk. Plenty of monk PrC that can, if not mirror VoP, give it a run for its money.

For more of a "Linear Guild" version of the party?

For the Monk, a few options. CE Ninja would give him the opportunity to play his LG Monk against another Asian-inspired class. Incarnum could give another spin on the "no magic items" shtick. Maybe even something monstrous like a Succubus or Pleasure Devil.

For the Paladin, an evil Knight or Crusader (depending on how optimized the Paladin is) could do it. A variation on Bone Knight, possibly? If we're going more towards a CE party, maybe even something like a Frenzied Berserker.

The Rogue: I'd go with a Scarlet Corsair.

Linear Guild style.

Monk: City Brawler variant Barbarian, into a Forsaker? Maybe some kind of evil Ancestral Relic combo'd with a Graft or something. Symbiont? How about Soulknife/Soulbow with a few feats dumped into Bind Vestige for the Savnok Armor?

Paladin: Paladin of Tyranny 3/Blackguard 9 seems straight forward enough. I just like Blackguards.

Maybe a Hexblade/Pal.o.Tyr/Mortal Hunter. Alternatively, Cloistered Cleric into a Pally of Tyranny version of the "Prestige Paladin" class. Or a Zhentarhim Fighter 9/Divine Crusader 4?

Rogue: Dark or Shadow Creature Template on a Swordsage is my only real thoughts. Bugbear maybe. Or a (non-stupid broken) Cancer Mage build.

Whenever I just can't find a build to act as XYZ character I always just go back to the very useful Rogue 2 / Fighter 2 / Bard 2 / chameleon 10 and fluff whatever I want on top of those mechanics. It's nearly perfect for just about any NPC levels 8-16.

How about wizard 9/that bard prc which grants bardic music and actually do not needs you to be a bard 1(only to take magical training and earth spell and counterspell)/sublime chord 1/ultimate magus 1
Then proceed to have a singing wizard with a caster level of 11 in wizard.(actually he is a lot less dangerous than a straight wizard but you must be ready to do everything if you want to sing annoyingly)
Then have it spend all his time self buffing and swinging swords at people inefficiently and making tons of noise.(thus making it the opposite of a rogue)

For VoP Monk, he owns nothing and wants nothing. He focuses on perfecting his body. Therefore, someone who is wholly reliant on toys and just has tons upon tons of equipment and never does anything himself physically would work. Artificer focusing on Wands for combat and buffing and power and everything seems like a very natural foil here (just be careful to keep it from breaking the party).

For Paladin, obviously a Pally of opposite alignment could work, but that's too obvious. You could also play the arcane/divine divide by also mirroring it in that regard: a Chaotic Evil Hexblade/Duskblade or something of the sort seems like it would rather well. That would also lean a bit more towards magic while the Pally leans towards martial with the Fighter levels and Fist of Raziel, so that's another aspect where it's a sort of an evil counterpart. I'd run some Vile feats from Book of Vile Darkness, perhaps something inhumane or unsightly. Perhaps a Necropolitan or something; being undead certainly adds an extra twist to the whole.

For Rogue, Bard is the opposite end of the skill monkey spectrum. Loud rather than silent, more magical than physical, in your face rather than in the shadows, buffs others rather than using others to deal extra damage (Sneak Attack). Straight-up Bard could work with dread theme, fear effects like Haunting Melody and Imperious Command and company.

Just be careful not to make them too strong - Bard/Duskblade/Artificer is quite strong. That'd still be efficient while also being opposites of the party in about as many regards as possible though, and a solid setup all-around. Optimize to the level you wish them to work on.

Reflective Opposite of VoP Monk: A LE Monk with the Invisible Fist ACF and some Dark Moon Monk substitution levels.
Polar Opposite of VoP Monk: A CE Artificer X/Cannith Wand Adept Y (or just a straight Artificer) that blows through wands (and money) like nobody's business. Alternatively, an alchemist's fire-throwing Rogue.
Reflective Opposite of Paladin: That NE Paladin variant (technically a "Holy Warrior" variant) from that one Dragon Magazine article that gets a bunch of anti-Divine caster abilities.
Polar Opposite of Paladin: Barbarian with that CE-only ACF that gives it smites against non-CE creatures while Raging (IIRC), possibly with some levels in Frenzied Berserker (a complete loss of self-control contrasts the Paladin class's/archetype's emphasis on self-control)
Alternate Polar (or Reflective?) Opposite of Paladin: A Warlock (both in fluff and class-design)
Reflective Opposite of Rogue: A Bard
Alternate Reflective Opposite of Rogue: An Assassin
Polar Opposite of Rogue: Some undead creature with a gaze attack (because it WANTS to be seen)

Party consists of: V.o.P Monk-12,
Fighter-2/pali-7/fist of raziel-3
And a rogue-9/slayer of domiel-3. Monk (maybe, use Hunting Monk with Favored Enemy (Humans)?): Monk 6/Monk of the Long Death 6, or Monk 6/Reaper's Child 5/Monk of the Long Death 1; Vile Ki Strike or/and Vile Natural Attack feat(s)
Fighter-2/Pal: Fighter 2/Paladin of Tyranny (or Despot) 7/Disciple of Mephistopheles 3; Hellsworn feat
Rogue: Rogue 3/Mystic Ranger 6/Deathstalker of Bhaal 3
Also:
Dungeon #143 have Mirrored Creature template.
Mirrored Creatures are produced when somebody use the Mask of Diamond Tears
Mirrored Creature is similar, but different to the MoDT's target
What stays the same: ECL - always
What changes:
Alignment - changes to Evil
Mirror Jump 3/day - as Shadow Walk (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/shadowWalk.htm), except through the Plane of Mirrors; normally, enter and exit should be mirrors; may try to enter through other reflective surface (like still pool of water or shiny metal object) with 30% chance of successWhat may be changed:
Race - may be changed to "close enough" (such as Human to Half-Elf or Half-Orc, or different subrace)
Class - may be changed; if yes - reassign the original ability scores to better fit it, and generate the new BAB, saves, hp, skills, feats, and CFs
Drastic Alterations - such as mutations or templates; if it will increase ECL - then cut it from class levelsHow about to make those "vile counterparts" into Mirrored Creatures?
