Activating Arcane Strike feat is a free action that does not provoke AOOs.

So can you take such an action in the middle of a full attack (e.g if your first attack with a mediocre to good roll misses, and you want to give other attacks a better chance of hitting)?

Yes. From the Player's Handbook

Free Action: Free actions consume a very small amount of time and effort, and over the span of the round, their impact is so minor that they are considered free. You can perform one or more free actions while taking another action normally. However, the DM puts reasonable limits on what you can really do for free. For instance, calling out to your friends for help, dropping an object, and ceasing to concentrate on a spell are all free actions.

Free actions are what allow for things like Full Attacks with multiple thrown weapons or crossbows utilizing Quick Draw and Rapid Reload respectively.

If you could not execute a Free Action in the middle of an attack sequence, then those would not be legal actions.

You can perform free actions during other actions, yes.

Note that this also means you can perform swift actions during other actions. Nice, right?

"You can take a swift action anytime you would normally be allowed to take a free action."

Yes. Thanks

So this means that with Arcane Spellsurge running one could cast true strike as a swift action to ensure the the last attack in an attack sequence hits. Hmmmm......

Or just quicken it (including via rod, if you have a hand free.)

Yes, you can take a free action during a full attack. It's fairly common to use a free action to take a five-foot step during a full attack in order to reach a new target should your primary target drop before you've fully unloaded.

I built a Quick Draw fighter once that would switch weapons in the middle of a full attack
