What happens to a daeva when a daevic or other host of a daeva dies?

It varies by daeva. It can be ejected from the host, and if it isn't strong enough to sustain itself as an independent being, then it becomes a disembodied spirit until a new host bonds with it and strengthens it enough to sustain itself.

The daevas most commonly bonded to daevics don't have the power to exist independently and become disembodied entities waiting for a host (i.e. they're powerless until a new daevic bonds with them).
