Hello guys :)

My PCs just got to level 3 and one of my players took Craft Wondrous Item and I am looking for a way for him to not pay the XP cost.
He play a Dragonfire Adapt and the Erudit PC use the power he need to make an item.

The party are at level 3.

why don't you want him to pay the xp cost?
It sounds like you're the DM, in which case you can simply change the rules. pathfinder got rid of xp costs so the party can simply stay the same level.

aside from that, while there are ways, I'm not sure how many of them are useable that early on, it's oto early to get a thought bottle, the book of vile darkness has some ways but they're quite evil (human sacrifice level stuff), iirc book of exalted deeds also has something, not sure how easy it is to get.

Using Liquid Pain, Souls, or sacrificing creatures for Dark Craft XP. All these are detailed in BoVD. BoED has Ambrosia, an analogue to Liquid Pain that can be used similarly. There's also the Thought Bottle, which can significantly reduce the XP costs of many items.

This guide (http://minmaxforum.com/index.php?topic=1000.0) might be of some use to you, as well.

I don't want to close the option for him to use one of the ways.

"Eye of Newt and Toe of Frog: Using Power Components" article (Dragon #317) allow to replace XP expenditure with some esoteric components - such as powdered stinger of Giant Wasp for potion of Rage, or central eye of Beholder for Rod of Cancellation; article also includes prices for those components - because some of them may be kinda hart to obtain (such as soul gems of 25+ HD Demilich)

Craft Points (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/buildingCharacters/craftPoints.htm) is a variant system which may be more restrictive, but still completely XP-free

Also, the XP used by the crafter can be donated by another.
