So I figure my swashbuckler/investigator is going to die soon. So I am trying to come up with a build to represent El Kabong (ttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=010aaw1Ajo0) I was thinking maybe some type of vigilante build would work or maybe a skald? I am open to anything really. We are currently at 5th level.

One level of Skald gets you access to the cantrip Summon Instrument. Then just take the feat Catch Off-Gaurd. This lets you pull a guitar from "hammerspace" and use it as an improvised weapon without penalties on attack rolls.

1 rank of Perform (strings), the Rough and Ready (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/traits/equipment-traits/rough-and-ready/) trait, and Gloves of Improvised Might (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic-items/wondrous-items/wondrous-items/e-g/gloves-of-improvised-might/) as you level up.

To my knowledge, quick draw as El Kabong never actually plays the instrument, so you don't need to be a musical class.

I second the rough and ready+gloves of improvised striking and summon instrument from a skald dip. However, if you have a durable enough guitar, you can simply carry it on your back and forgo the skald dip.

After that, do you actually want to be quick draw as well? I would probably go with the gunmaster vigilante so you can be both Quick Draw and El Kabong. Skald makes sense over bard for the "kabonging frenzy", if you choose to dip. I would probably just go with straight vigilante and use your guitar to switch hit.

Consider the grand marshal prestige class if you also want to be a sheriff.

Ooh, those gloves are definitely new. I love that PF keeps adding things; I'll have to dig through that book in more detail.

If you can get your DM to allow things from 3.5 one of the Complete books (not sure which one away from books) had insturments that could be used as weapons.
One hilariously being basically a bayonet for your guitar/violin/ect..
I think one made it count as a club which is what you want for El Kabong.

Rough and Ready only applies to craft and profession skills. Noting that lutes and the like make fragile weapons. So basically the 1 rank in perform strings is not necessary. Edit: (Unless El Kabong actually plays the instrument, i don't actually know about that.)

You could try to have Profession(Mariachi) with your guitar being your tool.....

Profession(Homage) would be appropriate too.

I came up with a character on these very lines.
An Orc Bard called "Krang The Musicless" with the Pole Dancer Archetype (Pole Dancer is a twist on Dervish Dancer, that uses a 10' pole as a weapon / focus).
Anyone who plays Dragon Soul on android will spot my inspiration.
