Hey folks,

Here is a prestige class designed to be more in the element of party-support. The class is intended for a setting where there are Heavy Metal Gods and Metal sorcerers and numerous Rock/Metal tropes, so the flavor is intentionally a bit crazy. Thanks for your time and thoughts.

there was a kick ass (metal) PrC someone made a long while back for 3.5 you may like, I'll look for it later if you want.
here is one (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?10284-METAL!-(PrC))

another one (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?72756-The-Metal-Bard-PEACH-not-really-serious)

Hi Sooth!

First off, I very much like the class! It's a bard-esque class with easy prerequisites that brings some tools for any class that takes it (with the standard caveat for casters, but watcha gonna do?), but it provides support in less standard ways than raw numbers, which is very nice!
I especially like Well Oiled Machine, which is a cool subversion of Solo Tactics.

A quick look over this class, and I see the following possible issues:
-Boon of the Road might have too many talent picks for the number of talents you provide; you get 4 out of 6 of them. I'd add two more talents to allow more build variety than "which capstone do I want the least?". Also, Opening Act is probably the most powerful out of any of them, as it represents an extra spell being cast to buff up your team.
-Locking some of the spellcasting progression behind having taken a feat 3 times is... Well, I've never seen it before, that's for sure. There is almost certainly something unintended that can be done with this, probably revolving around taking a PrC instead of taking a 2-feat tax.
-You Got This is immensely powerful when combined with the Bodyguard feat and with Swift Aid. Unsure if intended.

I suggest adding two talents relating to the Bodyguard or Swift Aid feats, perhaps allowing Aid Another to be used at range or something, and tweaking You Got This to compensate.
On the casting... no idea, sorry.

Thanks for the thoughts :) I've actually written like half a dozen Metal PrCs. I did one for Bard specifically and an older version of it is on this forum: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?498455-The-Disciple-of-Metal-(Heavy-Metal-Bard)&p=21136378#post21136378 (it was also on the 3.5 Wizard forums way back when). It's cool to see that many others have had the inclination to do so. There's a lot to be said about how D&D attracts a Metal crowd, and so forth.

Hi Sooth!

Hello again! Good to hear from you.

Oh wow. I was peripherally aware of Swift Aid's existence but definitely failed to consider it. Actually, there are a whole bunch of Aid Another-affecting things that Paizo probably did not intend to work together but... oh well.

I decided to take the route of rewriting You Got This! in such a way that taking "Swift Aid" would no longer be necessary or desired, and per your suggestion, added more Boons that interact with Aid Another.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the Magic thing either. Taken out of context the Magic of the Road feats seem to be cost-effective without being OP. I suppose if somebody wants to pair Roadie with a spellcasting-advancing PrC, they can go for it... it's only 2-3 levels.

I'm considering adding Use Magic Device to the list of class skills.

I decided to revisit this class and make it into 7 levels. Changes include:

-- Class now gets 4th level spells as part of its natural progression
-- Reduced the skill intensiveness of the class a little
-- Removed some feats related to spellcasting and incorporated them into new Boons and Great Boons.
-- Added some feats to emphasize support with Rogue and Bard levels, and to help the Roadie transition into high-level play.
