Really excited about this. Granted you can download it for free along with every other WEG SW resource legally (I think) for free but a new hardbacked book is awesome. I just haven't gotten into the newer versions from saga and ffg. After playing a classless game for years and then being shoehorned into a restrictive class structure just never sat well with me.

"GALLANT KNIGHT GAMES PARTNERS WITH NOCTURNAL MEDIA TO MANAGE AND DISTRIBUTE NEW EDITION OF WEST END GAMES D6 SYSTEM

Utah, UNITED STATES (10/11/2017) – Gallant Knight Games and Nocturnal Media are pleased to announce that they have entered into an agreement related to the classic West End Games D6 System. Under license from Nocturnal Media, Gallant Knight Games will become the official publisher and distributor of a new edition of the D6 System, tentatively titled: “D6 System: Second Edition”!

"Since Nocturnal purchased West End Games, the plan has been to revitalize the D6 System and modernize a system so many gamers have enjoyed.” Steve Wieck says, “This partnership with Gallant Knight is part of our journey to achieve that.”

This new edition will be overseen by Gallant Knight Games’ design team, with approvals from Nocturnal Media & West End Games.

“The West End Games D6 system and it’s classic D6 game of cinematic space opera adventure was hugely informative of my growth as a young gamer,” Alan Bahr, founder of Gallant Knight Games adds. “Helping to bring West End Games back into the mainstream gaming community is an exciting moment for us, and serving as the official West End Games creation and publishing studio is an opportunity of a lifetime!”

More announcements about changes in D6 System: Second Edition, timelines and dates will be forthcoming!"

then squee-d. However, to be perfectly accurate, it is not D6 Star Wars, but more akin to D6 Space and the other variations. (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/20447/D6-Space?src=also_purchased&it=1&filters=910_0_0_0_0)

Worth noting that D6 Space used to be free; looks like Nocturnal has added a price to it.

This is great. WEG d6 is STILL the best system ever published for a Star Wars RPG.

(And as an aside, Alan Bahr is one of the principles of the Planet Mercenary RPG.)

Yeah, although they've also added PoD versions of the rulebooks, so it's a win and a loss. I'm glad I added them to my DTRPG library a couple of years ago now (and the price is small enough it probably won't put most people off the pdf).

On the thread topic, I'll keep an eye out for this. It's the one Star Wars system I've ever found interesting.

You can still get it for free, it's part of the "Core Bundle (http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/29204/D6-Core-Set-BUNDLE)". I just went and added it to my DTRPG library.

Although, they say it's a new version, and I can't seem to find a list of changes/updates, so I'm curious as to what they did to it.
