I don't read webcomics specifically to avoid the problem of "Hey, you stole my joke!" It seems to work well, except in the case of OOTS. I rather suspect it's because Rich and I are working on the same basic comic: fantasy and gaming parody depicted with intentionally "low-res" art. You make fun of the same basic ideas with the same basic approach, you're going to do the same basic gags every so often.

It's a testament to our readerships (of which there must be significant crossover) and online communities that any time one of us has a situation similar to the other it doesn't start up some weird drama. Everyone just goes, "Hey, that reminds me of when X did Y" and everyone has a nice little laugh.
