I hate to admit it, but... We have already two Belkar strips in the finals, and now I'm stuck with a Belkar x Belkar situation here! Oh man...

Well. "Generic comment questioning your parentage" wins. 295.

What can I say? Belkar is... Belkar. :smallwink:

Belkar's Hologram/Illusion for the win. 295.

Ithekro

#281: Mr. Stabby the Bored, Son of Wang.

dogmac
2007-08-16, 09:24 PM
281 easily.

Haruki-kun
2007-08-16, 09:34 PM
Most certainly 281.

prongs43
2007-08-16, 09:39 PM
I have to vote #298, for forboding montages.

Hyozo
2007-08-16, 09:40 PM
295 I guess, although I can't really call any of those five one of my favorites.

298! Has all the characters in it, showcases a number of upcoming plot developments, is dramatically framed against an significant turning point in the OOTS story, and ends on a great pun!

(And for the Belkar-lovers out there, it also has a good line by Belkar.)

:belkar: Hello, fellow Medium-sized creature! How are you enjoying being Medium-sized, like me, on this lovely day?

David Argall

None of them are really outstanding, but I guess I will go with 281. Whoever wins this has no chance in the finals.

I'll vote on 288

Xaydx
2007-08-17, 12:13 AM
have to go with 298 even though I know it won't win...

kerberos
2007-08-17, 12:38 AM
281. Lead sheets FTW!

Wolfe
2007-08-17, 12:45 AM
Mr. Scruffy further hypothesizes that #278 combines the qualities of being plot-o-rrific, V-rrific, and SoD-relevant-o-rriffic, and although not :belkar:-rrific, it is quite funny on its own right.

:roy: So, we are pleading "Not-Guilty by Virtue of Two Wrongs Making a Right."

Wolfe.

278. The only real competitor for me would be 298, by merit of the excellent dramatic buildup sequence, but today, humour wins.

Damastes

298
today drama beats humor...

DarthMauler64
2007-08-17, 03:42 AM
I liked 278 the best

Saithis Bladewing
2007-08-17, 04:25 AM
298 for excellent dramatic effect, even though the generic comment questioning parentage was awesome.

Dunamin
2007-08-17, 04:51 AM
281, but none of the strips feel like a convincing winner to me (though they're al still great).

Kioran
2007-08-17, 04:54 AM
284. Itīs not one of the 5 strips open for selection, but to me still the highlight of the 25.

Eldred
2007-08-17, 05:38 AM
298 for it's great dramatic effect, and a great joke at the end.

Kurald Galain
2007-08-17, 05:48 AM
288, for the encephalitis line.

Emperor Ing
2007-08-17, 05:54 AM
298. Could be a little hot.. :smalltongue:

Purple_cloack
2007-08-17, 08:03 AM
I say its 286, a minor glitch:

:belkar: Goodbye, Miko the Paladin-Hello, miko the fighter-without-Bonus-feats!

Levain
2007-08-17, 08:34 AM
Ok, so I viewed the strips in question in chronological order and thought I'd vote for #281 as it was outstandingly humorous. And then I saw THAT one on the list and now I can't help but

vote for #298.

For Montage!

Ashtar
2007-08-17, 08:38 AM
298 for me, please!

Solmage
2007-08-17, 09:10 AM
281, it has Miko, it has Belkar, and it even shows an unusual side of Belkar (ie a not totally psychotic killer side :smallwink: )

Besides, 'Stabby' FTW :smallcool:

ChopSticks28
2007-08-17, 09:56 AM
298, still funny even though it's not the funniest, and very fun to read.

Jarwy
2007-08-17, 11:49 AM
281 for the win. ;) You can't "beat" Belkar's commentary.

BobTheDog
2007-08-17, 11:59 AM
I just love Roy's inability to play charades.

288

Sir_Norbert
2007-08-17, 12:19 PM
298 as a tactical vote. But obviously 282 is the best of this quarter and probably the best of the 200s.

Omicroncubed
2007-08-17, 12:32 PM
281

I don't know why, but it's hilarious!

dish
2007-08-17, 12:38 PM
I think 298.

Oblomovism
2007-08-17, 01:00 PM
For me it's a toss up between 288 and 10 strips on.
But I think 298 wins by virtue of having more of the characters saying funny things...(though the encephalitis line does always make me laugh).

Tmabbbb
2007-08-17, 01:47 PM
I'll go with 298. The winner will probably be 281 or 285.

T23
2007-08-17, 11:05 PM
298. Hands down.

Reigheena
2007-08-18, 11:47 AM
My vote's for 281

Megalomaniac2
2007-08-18, 12:21 PM
I'm going with 278 for Vaarsuvius' rant and Celia's cleverness.

kukn
2007-08-18, 05:48 PM
295.

Imho all 5 of this quarter are good, 295 wins for me because it has 1) humour 2) multiple characters 3) a modicum of plot explaining.

Nomadic
2007-08-18, 07:21 PM
281...nothing beats the third to last panel

:belkar: Hey, wake up, snow white! It's me, the 8th dwarf, "stabby"...

North
2007-08-18, 08:26 PM
Yeah Im also going to have to go with 281 Get the Lead Out as well

Mobius Stripped
2007-08-18, 08:52 PM
298. Using the blacksmith's blows in between single panel scenes was inspired, even by the Giant's high standards.

Aris Katsaris
2007-08-18, 10:03 PM
Voting for 288.

Nazzo, the 102nd

Poll is closed.

I had a little doubt in kukn's vote because the typed 295 (twice) but his comments seem to refer #298. Bu anyways, it wouldn't change the outcome.

Well, looks like Belkar lost to the power of the montage. Let's vote for the Hundred, then!
