Echoing Spell or Repeating Spell?

For a summoning specialist malconvoker, which is better? What other metamagics beyond Extend Spell are good ideas?

I am not familiar with malconvoker but the feat Augment Summoning comes to mind. Twin spell is a good metamagic feat

Echoing, repeat often does nothing useful either because your opponent is already dead or they moved 30ft away and echoing often allows you to cast the same spell three or more times instead of being limited to twice.

For summons in particular it's actually not that useless even if enemies move away. Summons get their full-round action after all, so they can just charge or use an SLA or whatever. But yeah, Echoing with CL boosts can be great in long days (Repeating saves an action in getting doubles in a given encounter though for when you're prepping or need to go nova)...but you probably want metamagic reducers to use either with summons since they need to be near top level slot to be combat relevant (though on very high levels, SLA access might vindicate a lower level summon spells in appropriate circumstances).
