If I was gonna build Pennywise, I'd probably go for a Beguiler/Shadowcraft Mage build - not just because it's optimal, but because it fits the idea of how IT works extremely well: everything IT does is largely messing with your mind...and if you believe in the illusion, the illusion becomes real and can hurt you, even kill you. Typical ScM advice would apply, if you took the build in that direction.

Alternatively, if you can convince your DM to go with the idea, maybe make up a psionic version of ScM, since psionics feels like a better fit for that IT. Maybe a Psion or Wilder focused around illusion/enchantment style effects.

Ok i haven't looked at shadowcraft mage cause i had planned around wilder for the psychoportation and the sorcerer for the prestige classes of mindbender and nightmare spinner to be able to read minds and use illusions to ultimately kill people but this is Gestalt and i am going to bring this character in at level 13 cause the grey jester is a level 2 adjustment so i can take 5 levels of wilder/sorcerer and 5 levels of beguiler/shadowcraft mage then 3 levels of the prestige classes. only thing i am confused on is making the shadowcraft mage work since a grey jester is an outsider fey and what shadow spells are ?

Gestalt game, eh?
I hate doing this all the time, but 319 DRAGON erudite(Because the C.psi one is unplayable trash) with Convert spell to power really is the absolute best class in the game.

There are so many good arcane spells to build ideas around, and ones that just kind of hang around on other lists, and seamlessly mixing them in with psionics, just works so well.
I am really tired of suggesting it, it's so good.

Want to play like a bard? Learn bard spells.
Want to play like a jester? Learn jester spells.
Want to play like an assassin? Learn assassin spells.
Rinse, repeat.

Like, you could literally just main spells solely from the jester list as an erudite, and it fluffs WONDERFULLY...BUT, you also have the option to pick spells from all the other arcane lists for some added flexibility, as well as still using the psion list par excellence.
And then, really you don't even actually have to play the grey jester race (which is terribly made), and can just throw on a human with otherworldly or something, and have the second class of the gestalt be a lurk.

With the erudite, the main challenge is finding the thematic spells necessary to execute the idea.

Second option would be
Jester//Sorcerer, or battle dancer (depending if you want to just be a spell caster, or want to rip little kid's arms off.)
As far as feats? Metamagic (Or metapsionics. Either go Arcane or Psionic. Both is spreading your resources thin.).

This would have been delicious in pathfinder though...

Ok i was looking at wilder for the ability of psychoportation and teleport to the enemy and either instill fear or hit them with a shaped fireball point blank, basically just using psionics so i wouldn't have to waste a spell to teleport or blink around the board it seemed more useful to me

Uh...

Alright, so, just so you understand.
1. Wilder only has the general psychoportation powers on the psion/wilder list.

2. The whole point of the wilder class is not to be like the sorcerer, the psion is like the sorcerer, but to essentially an emotional supernova(so in reality, like a barbarian, but raging affects powers). They essentially get 11 powers for their whole career, and have wild surge, which is like a free couple of points of pp/augment.
It's cool, BUT, 11 powers is pretty horrible.

Generally people get past it through psychic reformation, and even though you are the DM, it's kind of cheesy.

3. it really does nothing to... Cycle back and forth. Spell casting is somewhat better than psionics with automatic damage scaling by level, BUT, it's so much cleaner to just deal with a massive pool of pp, rather than both IMO.

Also a minor thing about the race for this build:

IT is not a clown. Pennywise is one of many forms it takes (and the one that’s stuck in pop culture for years). I believe the book uses Pennywise once, to get that one boy in the sewers.

IT’s true form is allegedly mentioned in the sequel, making IT a shapeshifter of sorts, but given how the Clown is the most iconic form, Grey Jester would fit the bill.

yeah i'm new to the whole psionics the DM and a fellow player said wilder was better than psion besides the group already having a psion/favored soul lol

If you really want to delve into the lore, look at Dandelo from the Dark Tower. Google it :smallwink:

Dandelo is the same kind of creature as Pennywise. In addition to fear, he can also feed of laughter.
He has the power to turn into a giant insect, perhaps this is its true form.

Hi fellow gamers

I'm trying to build a pennywise style creature to use as backup character but also as a monster when i DM my own campaign. so i need ideas for feats and magic items its a wilder psion/sorcerer buildAs a PC - there's a problem: Grey Jester have 8 HD and LA +2
Nothing short of Ur-priest with LA buyoff and visit to Otyugh Hole (for Iron Will) can give you 9th-level spells pre-Epic
What's the expected level(s)?

As a monster - wasn't IT at "world-killer" territory?
Should be an Elder Evil, or at the very least - Abomination
Divine rank wouldn't be out of place
Or, maybe, Demon Lord template?..
