View Full Version : Pathfinder [PEACH, Help] Bladesinger Mystic Order for Runic Knight Magus (Spheres of Might)

Hi guys. I'm working on a forgotten realms pathfinder game using spheres of power and spheres of might (http://spheresofpower.wikidot.com/). The bladesinger in this setting is pretty darn iconic and while it could be replicated with just using the magus itself, I've been trying to work out a Mystic Order for the SoM archetype of magus, Runic Knight (http://spheresofpower.wikidot.com/runic-knight) that would utilize both systems which i feel would fit the flavor of an agile elven art combining martial prowess and magic. The bladesinger prestige class (http://www.realmshelps.net/charbuild/classes/prestige/general/bladesinger.shtml) from 3.5 can be seen here, for inspiration.

The main things about the prc that I see is the extra AC when in light armor and not using a weapon in the off hand. This to me sounds like balanced defense talent in the equipment sphere. The bladesinger prc adds intelligence modifier but that is a wee bit powerful to give them from the getgo. The lancer gains an ability similar to at at 13th level so I've stolen it and modified it slightly. I don't want to give them balanced defense but I'm pretty certain they're going to want to take it anyway.


Every single mystic order at first level gains a certain sphere. Then they gain an ability that lets them better use that sphere. Here's what I have so far:

Bladesinger

Bladesingers gain the Fencing sphere as a bonus sphere at 1st level. If the runic knight already possesses the Fencing sphere, he may instead select any talent he qualifies for from that sphere. Unsure of what to give as a second ability right here.

At 7th level, bladesingers gain uncanny dodge. If they already had uncanny dodge from a previous source, they gain improved uncanny dodge.

At 13th level, whenever the bladesinger is wearing light or no armor and wielding a sword in one hand and no weapon in the other, he gains a dodge bonus to his AC equal to his Intelligence bonus against all attacks made by adjacent creatures.
