Which split is best dpr wise?

Going 17 barb / 3 champion or 16 champ / barb when going for a crit fishing GWM half Orc? Fighter split gets 7 ASI's, 18-20 crit range and 3 attacks which is v nice while barb get better/more rages and bigger crits. Which one would you guys say is the stronger on paper?

Burst: Champion 17 (because of action surge)
Any other Case: Barb 17

Pretty much what I thought then, the 6-7 ASI's of champ 16 or 17 could make you more versatile outside of combat tho I suppose.
